Vampire bats tend to live in colonies in almost completely dark places, such as caves, old wells, hollow trees, and buildings.
Vampire bats hunt only when it is fully dark. The common vampire bat feeds primarily on the blood of mammals (occasionally including humans). Once the common vampire bat locates a host, such as a sleeping mammal, it lands and approaches it on the ground. It then likely uses thermoception to identify a warm spot on the skin to bite. They then create a small incision with their teeth and lap up blood from the wound.
In 2017 Amaretto created these just for us to breed and have lots of fun finding their tricks and treats!
Halloween is just around the corner so I hope you’re ready for the next scare coming your way so beware!!

Hello and Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you are enjoying your day and your weekend is off to a great start!
Today the spotlight is shining on the Brandings trait for our horses!
The branding trait comes from breeding “Starter Coats” together or one starter with any other horse and CAN be passed on with the exception of the Amaretto Branding which is limited to the Show Horse only and can NOT pass on.
You could also get a Null Branding – a Null trait is an “Invisible trait”, a placeholder. These placeholders were implemented as a way to allow the breeder to have a maximum trait horse but still look the way they want it to look.
Additionally we have some Random Brandings as shown below. Please note that these brandings CAN be passed on with the exception of the Amaretto Branding.
The Amaretto Branding is limited to the Show Horse only and can NOT pass on.
We all should know by now that the Sussex Bantam chicken is the bird of the month for Amaretto’s October Qualified Breedings, but just what IS a Sussex Bantam? The Sussex is a British breed of dual-purpose chicken, reared both for its meat and for its eggs. Eight colours are recognised for both standard-sized and bantam fowl. The Sussex is described as a docile but confident and friendly bird that is easy to handle. They love to forage and are very good at it, gathering much of their needs from the garden which makes them thrifty hens. Sussex are all around hardy, especially in the cold. They can lay 4-5 large light brown eggs each week.
With the Barnyard Bird update to 3.0, Amaretto released the Sussex Bantam. You can have a chance at one of the exciting Non-Starter Breed Birds by breeding any bird with a starter bird or by breeding together two starter birds. This coat CAN be passed on.
Since the release this bird has been used multiple times for special breedings, beginning with the Sapphire Dazzle Craved. Starting Jan 1, 2020 until Jan 31, 2020, yif you bred any two of the following Birds: Sussex Bantam and Swedish Flower Bird, you had a chance to get a Sapphire Dazzle Craved Bird! The Sapphire Dazzle Craved DOES have the ability to pass.
The next monthly breeding to use the Sussex Bantam was the Coveted, which was released on July 1, 2020. Starting March 1, 2021 at 12:01 AM until March 31, 2021 11:59 PM any time you bred the following qualifiers together you had the opportunity to get an awesome surprise! The qualifiers were, one parent must have Granite Legs and the other must be one of the following Breeds: Silver Grey Dorking and Sussex Bantam. The surprise was the Coveted Ice. The Coveted coat does NOT pass, but the Glacial eye CAN pass.
They used the Sussex Bantam again for the April Coveted breeding. Starting April 1, 2021 at 12:01 AM until April 30, 2021 11:59 PM any time you breed the following qualifiers together you had the opportunity to get a awesome surprise! The qualifiers were one parent must have Wing Gold and the other must be one of the following Breeds: Sebright and Sussex Bantam. The Coveted – Metal coat DOES NOT have the ability to pass, but the Alloy Eye DOES have the ability to pass!
And now for the October Qualified Breeding project. Today is the first day the surprise can drop, until October 31st at midnight. Just breed any two Sussex Bantams for your chance to get a special coat. Can’t wait to see what they look like. Of course, we have to wait til they are adults. Ohh the antici…….PATION!
Second Life is not without it’s unpredictable behavior. Sometimes the re-starts, rollbacks and crashes can wreck havoc on your inventory items. These issues are most often related to asset server problems. You may have noticed that when Linden Lab posts grid status problems, they will often warn not to rez no-copy items during that period of time. This is because doing so can cause the servers to drop your inventory items. Nevertheless, there are a few things you can try to find your missing item(s).
First, remain calm!
Second, relog. Sometimes, this is all that is necessary for missing items to show up in your inventory again.
Third, check your Lost & Found folder in your inventory for the item. The object may have been returned to you without your knowing. Also, Check your Objects folder and don’t forget to look at any unknown “coalesced object” boxes. You may well find your missing items in there!
Fourth, try searching for the item using Area Search: Go to top menu, World → Area Search. Click on the “Find” tab and type part of the name of the item into the “Name” field. Click “Search.” You will be taken to the “List” tab. If you see the name of the object, double-click it in the list and follow the red beacon to the object. Moving your avatar or camera around can help the Area Search detect items that are not detected initially
Fifth, go to point 0,0,0 in the region or, if you don’t have access to it because it is part of someone else’s private property, ask that parcel or region owner to look. Sometimes, rezzed items will be deposited there. To get to point 0,0,0: Either type “gtp 0 0 0” into local chat (without the quotes) and hit Enter; Or open your mini-map (top menu, World → Mini-Map, or Ctrl-Shift-M) and fly or walk to the far southwest corner of the region. Try to pan below the ground.
Seventh, if the item missing is an Amaretto product, you can always file a ticket with Amaretto. The ticket system is located at http://support.amarettobreedables.com/index.php There is a helpful video on the page to help guide you through the process.
I would like to point out a couple of things to keep in mind when using the Amaretto Help Desk •PLEASE put both your full SL First name and Last name (if you do not have a last name put resident) in the ticket do NOT use display names •All communication MUST be in the ticket. CSRs will not respond to in world IMs or Notecards! To ensure your ticket is resolved as quick as possible, Please keep ALL responses/communications in your ticket. •Tickets may take 48-72 hours to get a response from the support team, please have patience. •Do not respond to the emails, we do not get those, you must respond inside the ticket itself for us to see the response. •No response to tickets from the user in 3 days and the ticket will be closed. •Do not wait to be contacted inworld regarding your ticket. Please log in and check for responses to your tickets. •Please do not file multiple tickets for the same issue, it only slows things down and the duplicate tickets will be closed. Refrain from refreshing your page on the ticket system, it will duplicate your tickets. •You must be the owner of the Horse/Bundle, K-9/Kennel, Bird/Nest or Ponie/Basket to file a ticket. Please do not file tickets for others. •Please include as much pertinent information as possible regarding your ticket/issue this will help expedite your ticket. Make sure to include the transaction history, from your dashboard, for recently purchased items.

Since it’s almost October, this is a good time to get a little Spooky! In this case, we are going to talk about some little skeleton ponies.
Craved Mr. Bone-jangles Ponie
When it comes to Ponie Pals there are two sets of skeletal Ponies, so we will start with the Craved Mr. Bone-jangles ponies which were the craved breeding for October 2019. From October 1, 2019 until October 31, 2019, you had to breed Painted Ebony, Blackie Fabulous, and Masquerade in Onyx together. When you did, you had a chance at getting one of the following:
October 2021 Qualified Breeding
And now qualified breedings are back! And for the Ponies you will any combination of the Craved Bone Jangles Ponies together. So it’s time to pull them out, birth them and see what you can get in October 2021 from them.
Día de Muertos
Sadly this one is not in the Wiki yet but this is the second user created Ponie Pal which was created by Sera Renfrew. They are similar to the Bone Jangles but as you can see if the image below they are a little more cartoon like which makes them adorable.
You cannot use these for the monthly breeding but why not grab a few and get ready for Día de Muertos which is scheduled for November 1 and 2, 2021. If you want to read more about Día de Muertos, there is a wiki located at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead.
These little ponie pals are not scary in anyway, they are gummy loving adorable skeleton ponies. So go out there and grab some today!!
