“Twisting time is here….”

So it’s twist time again and this time we are combining the Palomino and Pinto!! From December 5th 2013 until January 5th 2013 you can breed any color of Palomino and any color of Pinto together and you have the chance of discovering a brand new coat designed especially for the Twist called Pintomino! The difference between the Twist horses and the Show horses is the coats you discover each month will have the ability to pass! Of course each will also come with a very cool twist eye that will pass as well. So just to be clear you need to breed one Palomino of any color and one Pinto of any color together in order to have a chance at getting one of the brand new Pintominos!

Let’s not forget our twist K-9, from December 5th 2013 until January 5th 2013 If you breed any color Chihuahua with any color Yorkie (Standard & Parti) together and you have the chance of discovering a brand new coat designed especially for the Twist called Chorkie! The difference between the Twist K9s and the Best in Show K-9s is the coats you discover each month will have the ability to pass! Of course each will also come with a very cool twist eye and collar that will pass as well. So just to be clear you need to breed any color Chihuahua with any color Yorkie (Standard & Parti) in order to have a chance at getting one of the brand new Chorkies!

Have fun with the new twist coats! Happy Breeding!

Thanksgiving Thoughts

With tomorrow being Thanksgiving day, I am sure a lot of you will be watching the parades on TV and some will be traveling to their relatives or friends house for dinner. For some, their family members are far away, but I am sure they are always in your heart and your thoughts. Some will be remembering Thanksgiving past, of family that has passed away, missed but still remembered and loved. What ever your family traditions may be, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Day..

This is just the beginning of the Holiday Season!

here is a couple of awesome poems I found on the internet

T is for the trust the pilgrims had so many years ago

H is for the harvest the settlers learnt to grow

A is for America, the land in which we live

N is for nature and beauty which she gives

K is for kindness, gentle words, thoughtful deeds

S is for smiles, the sunshine everyone needs

G is for gratitude… our blessings big and small

I is for ideas, letting wisdom grow tall

V is for voices, singing, laughing, always caring

I is for Indians, who taught them about sharing

N is for neighbors, across the street, over the sea

G is for giving of myself to make a better me

by Judith.A. Lindberg

Giving Thanks

For the hay and the corn and the wheat that is reaped,

For the labor well done, and the barns that are heaped,

For the sun and the dew and the sweet honeycomb,

For the rose and the song and the harvest brought home —

Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

For the trade and the skill and the wealth in our land,

For the cunning and strength of the workingman’s hand,

For the good that our artists and poets have taught,

For the friendship that hope and affection have brought —

Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

For the homes that with purest affection are blest,

For the season of plenty and well-deserved rest,

For our country extending from sea unto sea;

The land that is known as the “Land of the Free” —

Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

Why I Am Thankful…

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday! Today I wanted to talk to you all about something that I am thankful for. I am extremely thankful for Amaretto. I don’t even know where to start….

Let me first start by telling you about myself and how I came to be involved with Amaretto Ranch Breedables. Well… I am a single mommy of 4 amazing kids ranging for 17-6 years old. Before Amaretto I was a LVN (licensed vocational nurse). I was injured at work and that basically took away my nursing career as I knew it. While at home recovering I was watching an episode of CSI and I saw this interesting virtual world called Second Life. I was super curious about this “world” I saw on the show so I turned my computer on and logged on to the Second Life website, downloaded the viewer, and was instantly hooked. LOL!

Now if you didn’t already know, Josie is my real life sister. She and I are super close. And well, let’s say, she began to worry when we hadn’t talked in a few days (might have been more lol). So she calls me and asked where the heck I had been. LOL! I then start rambling on about this virtual world I found. I was explaining it to her, telling her about all the clothes, and hair, and shoes, and dance clubs. I was so amazed by it! I then convinced her to make an avatar and log in to Second Life. Well… let’s just say it was downhill, or shall I say uphill from there! Hahaha!

After several months of exploring the grid, going to all the clubs, shopping every store we could find, and spending countless hours working on our houses and land, we discovered vampires! For a while we were a very tight knit and well known Vampire clan here in SL. Josie had met Jaysin shortly she started playing SL, they fell happily in love, and they were the clan King and Queen. This was super fun and exciting but we wanted more! And then….. we found… breedables….

We started with a few Sion eggs, but that quickly snowballed in to “let’s take down the house so we have more prims” or “Let’s take down some trees and stuff to make and area for breeding” LOL! We then tried several other breedables and Josie made a very wise investment and purchased the one and only Nest Egg Market! And after all that, it still didn’t quench Josie and Jaysin’s thirst for wanting more… so then came the idea of trying to create a breedable of their own. They had several ideas and eventually stuck with the idea of breedable horses!

After months of long hours and stressful days, the horses were ready for release!! On September 1 2010, Amaretto changed the face of breedables in Secondlife! Since then, I cannot even begin to explain how much Amaretto, Josie, Jaysin, and all of the staff have changed my life! Josie and Jaysin are definitely two of the kindest and caring people on this planet! They have helped me and my family so much. They have helped me and been there for me on some of the darkest days.

Today I would like to say a thank you to each and every one of my Amaretto family members! I love you all! Well now that I am all teary eyed I will wish you much love and happiness this holiday season!

Happy Holidays and Happy Breeding to each and every one of you!

Until next time….

But wait… I would like to add something…

Josie, you have helped me in so many ways. I cannot put in to words how thankful I am for having a sister like you. Many people have sisters, but only some are lucky enough to call them friends also. I am glad I am one of those few. You are strong, kind, caring, and generous. Those are only a few of your qualities that make you amazing! I love you very much Josie.

Happy Friday Everyone! Well Thanksgiving is getting close I would like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I sit remembering something that happened 50 years ago on this very day.

Some of you may remember some of you might not have even been born yet. I remember when it happened, it was one of those life changing events you never forget (now don’t you all go guessing my age) LOL!

On November 22, 1963 50 years ago our President John F. Kennedy was shot. I remember hearing it in our grammar school classroom over the loud speaker. We were all in shock, everyone was crying and then we were dismissed from school. Well it was all over the TV and me being the curious one I sat very still and watched all that was happening. I don’t think I truly understood the impact that one moment in time would have on the world.
So please be thankful for what all you have and that is life, no matter what comes your way just be thankful.

So in the spirit of being thankful please remember to go to the Toys for Tots Expo and enter the raffle for a “ONE of a Kind” OOAK horse, all proceeds go to the Toys for Tots

Until next week Happy Breeding!!!

Today I wanted to remind you all some things that we Amaretto Staff try to do to bring ourselves out into the community to hear what you the breeders have to say.

First are the daily Questions & Answers that the CSRs and Avalon do on a daily basis.  Each day they go out and pick a different market or store to go to and invite you the community to come over and chat and ask questions or just hang out.  They want to hear from you how things are going in the market and what things you like and don’t like, things you would like to see added or any ideas you might have regarding Amaretto.  Don’t be shy go over and talk to them.  All we ask is that you approach the staff in a respectful manner when there.  You know the old saying, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar!  But if you have a problem or a question please feel encouraged to attend these Questions and Answers and let us know what’s going on.

The next thing is our monthly events.  Each month the staff puts together what we hope are fun events for the community to attend.  These events range from the Breedable Costume Contests, to Fishing Events, to Horse Races to a good old fashion barn dance. We ask around and want ideas and input on these events from you out there in the community because we want these to be fun events that you all want to attend. Take a little break from staring at 99% pregnant horses and come hang out with the Amaretto staff for an hour or two.  So if there are events that you’d like to see us do more of please let us know about them, we want your suggestions.  You can drop suggestions in any suggestion box located at the Amaretto stores.

We hope our community knows how important your input is to us and that you feel good about coming to us at any time!

Until next time, Happy Breeding everyone!!!

What is Toys for Tots you ask…

U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

The principal Toys for Tots activity which takes place each year is the collection and distribution of toys in the communities in which a Marine Corps Reserve Unit is located. In communities without a Reserve Unit, the campaign can be conducted by a Marine Corps League Detachment or group of men and women, generally veteran Marines, authorized by Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to conduct a local Toys for Tots campaign. Local Toys for Tots Campaign Coordinators conduct an array of activities throughout the year, which include golf tournaments, foot races, bicycle races and other voluntary events designed to increase interest in Toys for Tots, and concurrently generate toys and monetary donations.

As Thanksgiving approaches here at Amaretto we wanted to take some time to thank all of you, our wonderful community, for all that you bring to us. We do all we do for you for with out you there would be no Amaretto. So as the Holiday season comes into full swing we would like to start it off on Thanksgiving day with our own special gifts. Starting at midnight November 28th 2013 for 24 hours there will be some pretty cool random drops from all of our beloved breedables. Horses, K-9s and Birds oh my!! So get ready for next week starts the giving!

Thanksgiving is here, so our minds have turned
To what time has taught us, to what we’ve learned:
We often focus all our thought
On shiny things we’ve shopped and bought.
We take our pleasure in material things,
Forgetting the pleasure that friendship brings.
If a lot of our stuff just vanished today,
We’d see the foundation of each happy day
Is special relationships, constant and true,
And that’s when our thoughts go directly to you.
We wish you a Thanksgiving you’ll never forget,
Full of love and joy—your best one yet!

Happy Breeding to all!!
P.S. Thought we would do something we usually don’t and give y’all a heads up 🙂
