Slurl ME!

I have been in Secondlife for over 10 years, and its always good to learn how to do something new!

It occurred to me earlier today that we do have some community members that do not know how to make a slurl!

SLurls and landmarks serve the same purpose. The main difference is that a SLurl is simply a text link, while a landmark is an inventory item type which can only be used inside of SL.

You can post a slurl in spam, in note card, or even an private message! If a Amaretto CSR ever answers your ticket with the reply please send me a slurl, I want you guys to be ready!

How to use and make SLurls
To use an existing SLurl:

Click this example SLurl.https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Here
On the page it takes you to, click Visit this location to open it in Second Life.

To make a new SLurl:

Move your avatar to where you want to create the SLurl.
Click the place name in the location bar (near the top of the Viewer window) to convert it to a SLurl. It’ll look like http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Here/128/128/44.

Right-click and Copy the SLurl while it’s selected, or use Ctrl+V.

Paste the SLurl where you want it.

Alternatively, you can also use the WORLD MAP to get SLurls:

Select World menu > World Map.
Click Copy SLurl.

You can also enter another place on the map, then click Copy SLurl to get a remote SLurl.

Converting a landmark to a SLurl (and vice-versa)
To convert a landmark to a SLurl:

Select Me > Places.
Right-click a landmark and select Copy SLurl.
Paste the Slurl where you want it.
To convert a SLurl to a landmark:

Click or otherwise use the SLurl to get to its location.
Select World > Landmark This Place. The landmark is saved to your inventory.

So this is a great secondlife tip i use all the time! Hope this helps some of you guys that didnt know how to make a slurl. Happy breeding everyone this is Ava over and out!

Beautiful Brandings

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start.

Today the spotlight is shining on the Brandings trait for our horses!

The branding trait comes from breeding “Starter Coats” together or one starter with any other horse and CAN be passed on with the exception of the Amaretto Branding which is limited to the Show Horse only and can NOT pass on.

You could also get a Null Branding – a Null trait is an “Invisible trait”, a placeholder. These placeholders were implemented as a way to allow the breeder to have a maximum trait horse but still look the way they want it to look.

Additionally we have some Random Brandings as shown below. Please note that these brandings CAN be passed on with the exception of the Amaretto Branding.

The Amaretto Branding is limited to the Show Horse only and can NOT pass on.

For more information and a closer look at these brandings check them out on the website at https://horse.amaretto.wiki/index.php?title=Branding

Until next time this Snookie hoping you have an amazing weekend.  Stay safe and Happy Breeding!

We Appreciate You

In these trying times it is good to remember the people who do their best to make our lives run a little easier, who go into public service, who instruct and protect us, and bring a little brightness into our lives. From firefighters and policemen, teachers and stay at home parents, to dentists, artists, and even chefs, please remember to show your appreciation by saying Thank You.

To show their appreciation for these often unsung heroes Amaretto brought out the Appreciation Eyes. Starting March 1, 2014, the first of the new Appreciation Eyes were born onto the grid, promoting appreciation for something new each month. These eyes could drop randomly every month from any breeding from the 4.0 horses and higher, starting with the Medical Appreciation eye and ending with the Engineer Appreciation eye in Feb 2015. These eyes are traited and Can be passed on. Which one is your favorite?

Gold Reins!

Hey everyone! Hope that everyone is staying happy and healthy! I know its crazy out there!
I wanted to show off the newest horse trait to hit the grid!

Happy Monday everyone! Today I wanted to take a moment to go over an awesome trait you might not know about… the Null trait! The Null trait is available is the Amaretto Horses and K-9s! Nulls were introduced as a way to let breeders have the maximum number of traits on their breedable but have it still look the way they want it to look.  By using the Null traits to fill the slots of the traits you don’t want on your horse you can build yourself a highly traited horse that still looks like it has no traits!

The list below shows all the Null traits available for the horse and what each Null replaces.

Hair Gloom Null – Holds the place of Hair Gloom
Coat Gloom Null – Holds the place of Coat Gloom

Hair Gleam Null – Holds the place of Hair Gleam
Coat Gleam Null – Holds the place of Coat Gleam
Hair Opal Null – Holds the place of Hair Opal

Happy Breeding!!

That’s Whacky!

What exactly is a wattle on a chicken? A wattle is a fleshy bit hanging from various parts of the head or neck in several groups of birds and mammals. In birds, wattles are often an ornament for courting potential mates. Large wattles are correlated with high testosterone levels, good nutrition, and the ability to evade predators, which in turn indicates a potentially successful mate. It has also been proposed that ornamental organs such as wattles are associated with genes coding for disease resistance. In umbrellabirds the wattle serves to amplify the birds’ call. Both male and female chickens have wattles, which help them to stay cool during warmer weather.

Cassowary

Amaretto likes to add new traits to the birds to keep them interesting. They celebrated Valentines Day on Feb 2nd 2019 and released Valentines Edition animals that you could purchase until Feb 15th 2019. There was a chance that you could get a brand new trait Whacky Wattle from any breeding of these 2019 Valentines Day Edition Barnyard Birds Chickens.
This was the the 13th trait added to the Barnyard Birds Chickens, the Whacky Wattle!
The Whacky Wattle DOES have the ability to pass!

I can’t wait to see what other new traits will show up on the Barnyard Birds, since Amaretto likes to surprise us!

Just DON’T do it!

Hey guys I wanted to take a few moments to talk to you guys about something that has became an issues today for some people. There are things that I did not even realize that something that some of our breeders are doing.

Are you setting your breedables for zero lindens?!
Why would you do that?!

I cant think of one reason that you should ever set a no copy object for sale for zero lindens unless you just want to give it away for free.

The problem with this is when you set something for sale for 0 lindens you can not control who buys it. So even though you set it for your partner, parent, kid, or friend, there is nothing stopping Joe Blow from panning up to your skybox, or parcel and buying your horse for FREE!

Even better Ava cant help you because Linden Labs will say, well you set it for 0 lindens!

Guys please be smart with the way you set items for sale, and what you do with your breedables, because situations like these could be totally avoided! This is Ava over and out! Happy breeding everyone!
