Smart Breeding!

Hey guys it’s a Marvelous Monday!, I hope everyones week is going great! I also hope everyone got to enjoy time with their families. I wanted to take some time out to talk to you guys about something that i think maybe some breeders might not know.

I am often asked is there a trick or a secret to breeding what you want? I always tell everyone there is no trick or secret but there is something I like to call smart breeding!

If you been to one of my auctions before you have heard the term I use called smart breeding.
Let me break it down for you just incase you don’t know what I am talking about.

Smart breeding is what you do to increase your chances at getting something special. Still don’t get it?

Well let me give you an example:
I have 5 horse breeding together 1 male horse and 4 females horses these horses are all siblings, so that means i could get an albino.

These horses all have a dazzle eye so I could possibly get a Dazzle horse as well!

See its a 2 chances in 1 breeding! Smart Breeding!

You could even make it a triple threat for example one of these siblings is a Shetland, so now we could get a Shetland Albino, reg Albino, or a Dazzle Horse!

There are many different combinations that you can use to smart breed:

Galaxy Eyes
Element Eyes
Dazzle Eyes
Confection Eyes
Reptile Eyes
Gem Crown Horns

So take a look at your herd and see where you may be able to implement a smart breeding plan! This is Ava over and out! Happy breeding everyone!

YUMMY CONFECTION COATS!

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday! I hope you are enjoying the start to your weekend.

Today I want to shine the spotlight on these awesome Confection horses. Did you know that you can get a randomly dropped Confection Horse by breeding together any two horses that have the Confection Eyes.

Amaretto celebrated our 4th Birthday on September 1, 2014 and to honor this occasion the Confection horses were revealed!

The Confection Horses can be randomly birthed by breeding together any two horses that have Confection Eyes.

Confection Horses can NOT pass their coat. However breeding a Confection Horse with another Confection Horse or with any other horse with Confection Eyes you will slightly increase your chance for another Confection Horse.

The Confection coat you receive will be chosen at random.

The Confection Eye that is on your specific Confection horse coat DOES have the ability to pass.

Hot Fudge Sundae Confection              Eye: Hot Fudge Sundae
Devil’s Food Cake Confection               Eye: Devil’s Food Cake
Cotton Candy Confection                      Eye: Pink Cotton Candy
Lemon Meringue Pie Confection           Eye: Lemon Meringue Pie
Red Velvet Cake Confection                 Eye: Red Velvet Cake
Strawberry Shortcake Confection         Eye: Strawberry Shortcake

So what are you waiting for go get you some confection eye horses and breed them together to try for a Confection Horse!!

Until next time this is Snookie hoping you have a great weekend and an even better week ahead!

Happy Breeding!!

Home On the Range

Lets talk a litle about range. What is it? Range is the distance your Amaretto Breedable can reach for food and breeding. The default setting they’re born with is 5 meters, but using the menu, you can change that to a higher number if you need to.

To change the range using the menu, hit settings>set range and you will see a notice in local chat like this “Clyde Wind: Say the range value you want in local chat.” Remember to be in chat range or shout if farther away and you will see a notice like this ” Clyde Wind: Scan range set to 5 from home.” Or whatever number you choose. You can select anywhere from 1 meter to 96 meters, but remember your horse will need to be in range of food/salt in order to prevent it from getting sick and its mating partner in range in order to breed. Think of the range as a circle, and whatever can get inside that circle or touch it’s edges can affect your horse.

So if you set the food inside, the horse can reach it whether it is on movement or not. Also even if your horse is on a certain range like 5 meters, another horse set too closely on a higher range can reach inside that circle and possibly breed with your horse. The same goes for all the Amaretto Breedables when it comes to range. Remember the range is set by menu, so wherever you first rez or set home on your Amarettos is where the circle of range is.

If you ever move your breedables using edit, always remember to reset home or rerez, so the range can be effective. Don’t forget to check range on live animals you have just bought, to prevent accidental breedings or hungry animals, and Happy Breeding!

Send out the search party!

Hello everyone its another Manic Monday! I thought I would take some time and share a handy tool I use all the time when searching for a lots breedable or really any object!

There might be a couple reasons you want to use the area search feature!
Maybe you lost your favorite breedable and can’t find it where you left it! Or you wanna figure out who all has objects out on your sim or parcel!

You can find the area search under world> area search if you are using the firestorm viewer!

There are several different options that you can include in your search so you can check the ones you want to include in your search.

In this example im searching for all objects owned by Avalon Crystal on this sim.
As you see here Ive just put in my name and hit search!

Viola!
You will see a whole list of objects that I own on this sim!

You can right click on any object and see the following information and options.

This is a very handy tool it has many different search options as I showed before so it could be Owner, Object Name, Description, Group, Creator, or Last Owner.

I have found all kinds of crazy things people have left behind at markets that I frequent, so try it out and see what you find! I hope that I have taught a few of you something new about second life! This is Ava over and out!

Exotic Birds!

Hi everyone I hope your Saturday is going well and your weekend is off to a great start!

Today I wanted to take a moment to talk a little about Exotic Barnyard Birds!

Exotic Birds are very special birds that can be born at random from ANY bird breeding combination. And the great thing about these special and rare birds is that they will give a gradual boost to the Vivacity of birds within 10 meters over a period of time! When you breed an Exotic Bird (whether it is with another Exotic Bird or any other bird) you DO have an increased chance at receiving another random Exotic Bird. The Exotic Birds are NOT able to pass their breed or eyes. However, you could get extremely lucky and birth another Exotic Bird. The non-Exotic offspring of Exotic Birds do NOT have an increased chance of producing Exotic Birds. Let’s take a look at this gorgeous birds below!

As an added twist to the Barnyard Birds the Exotic Birds that are Special/Rare Birds have the possibility of being found in the Starter Packs**
Information on the Amaretto Barnyard Birds can be found here

Until next time this is Snookie hoping you enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week ahead!
