Interview With an Amaretto Breeder

Happy Friday Everyone !!! Hope everyone is having a good breeding day !!

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing RolensFord Resident he is in the group so if you see him give him a big hello.

Please tell the community a little about yourself. Where you are from and what brought you to Second Life?

I’m from New York and a Network Admin. Some friends where involved in SL and I gave it a try. Met some great folks and now a few years later I’m still here.

Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
I own Horses and K9’s.

How did you get started in breedables?
The Clan I’m in many folks have breedables so I figured I would give it a try. I got involved in doing a few special projects and kind of got hooked.

Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
I also breed Champion Pull horses.

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
I like the Old School Vampire horses so I’m breeding all black traits into them such as shadow Horns, Nightfall Wings, ect. I’m doing this with Black Walkers, Black Classic Clydesdale and Black Shetlands.

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto K-9s?
I had stopped breeding the k9’s but at the last Hunt Amaretto had I got a Crimson Bloodthirsty Beagle and like the coat so working on breeding that coat out with Red Eyes.
What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable ? For now the Horses as I have been working them the longest time.

What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?
I’m involved in a clan and help take care of a Victorian themed sim and stock yard. Also like to jockey and do races.
Thank you RolensFord Resident for letting me interview you for this week’s conenction.
I am including some pictures of RolensFord special breedables.

I hope you enjoyed reading, if you would like for me to interview you please send a notecard with your name to Karrie Woyseck Thank You !!

Until next week Happy Breeding

Interview with an Auctioneer!

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of talking with Elie Back. She is a really sweet and funny person and loves being an Auctioneer. Below are some question I asked and her answers!!

Elie profile pic by Ro!
Q.When did you first start being an auctioneer?

A Elie Back: I started auctioneer oh I think 5 years ago or so at Mystic Bay. Tom was my partner then and he was old friends with Mallorie and some folks there and he took me to my first auction there… and I was hooked! laughs

Q.What made you decide to be an auctioneer?

A.Elie Back: Well… I would have to say i was pulled kicking and screaming into it… it was a very scary proposition! But Mallorie was a great teacher and inspiration and she thought I’d be good at it.. and honestly, it was kind of exciting and scary at the same time!

Q. When you first started auctioneering , what breedable were you auctioning for?

A. Elie Back: I started with the Amaretto Horses 🙂 They were my first breedable beasty and have always been my first love 🙂 I have also auctioneered for Fennux and ABC horses. I wouldn’t auctioneer something I didn’t actively breed and didn’t love 🙂 I think that would be more of a “job” and less “FUN!” And you GOTTA have fun!

Q.What do you feel is the most difficult thing for you, being an Auctioneer?

A.Elie Back: Time is always a killer! I wish I had more time to spend just roaming around and seeing what everyone is creating with their horses! I guess the challenges have changed over the last 5 years… when I started we all did those dang horrible cards! and it was so hard to get folks to bring their horses in time to learn something about them! But now the auctions I think are much more seller friendly… and auctioneer friendly too!
Q. What is your favorite type of auction to call?

A. Elie Back: I love the drop auctions! It’s the most unstructured and easypeasy type of auction for everyone… buyers, sellers and the auctioneers! It seems to me that folks have more fun at the drops… I’ve recently started doing the list boards for drop auctions and that’s a great way to do them I think. No standing in line or having to wait for half an hour for the auction to start.. just go in, get your spot on the board and then go have fun til auction time!

Q.What do you feel makes a good auctioneer?

A. Elie Back: hmmm that’s hard because there are so MANY awesome auctioneers out there and we are all different in our personalities and styles 🙂 I think to be truly good you have to enjoy the auctioneers.. you have to have just as much fun as the folks coming to your auctions — folks can tell if you’re just plodding through it 🙂 And also you have to know what your auctioneering… whether it’s chickens or dogs or horses… if you don’t know the breedable lines and what you can do with them then I think you do a disservice to the folks coming to the auction .. not just those selling but those buying. New breeders learn so much from auctions! And if the auctioneer is creative with what can be done with that horse and can share that vision with the buyers then they will have happier sellers AND buyers in the end!

Q. What is the funniest thing that has ever happen to you when calling an auction?

A. Elie Back: Well … I don’t think I could pick just one thing.. if you’ve been to one of my auctions… well.. we have fun! I love an interactive “audience” and when you have that, and the stars are in proper alignment… ANYthing can happen.. and usually does! I guess the most embarrassing.. and funniest thing for me when it happens is when people get me laughing so hard i snort! That is hard to live down!

Just by spending time talking with Elie, and the answers to the questions I asked, you can really tell that she really enjoys being an auctioneer and having fun too!

If you are an Auctioneer and would like to be interviewed, just send a notecard titled Interview of a Auctioneer with your sl name on it to Maleficent Farshore!
Until next week happy breeding , and go check out the auctions for some great deals and fun!

Need To File A Support Ticket? Here’s How…

Happy Sunday everyone!! I have had a lot of questions about getting in to the ticket system to file a support ticket so today I wanted to give an in depth look into the Support System and filing a support ticket. Below I will tell you step by step how to register for the support system and file a support ticket…

You need to visit the Amaretto Support desk at:  http://support.amarettobreedables.com

Once you get there, have a look at the  ticket guidelines. These guidelines can answer many of your questions regarding tickets and will help ensure the ticket process goes smoothly.

vignpkbfiptk6j0stbmcbfreyvfs4po0

Next, If you are not yet registered for the support system, you will need to do so. It is really a fairly simple process. You will want to click on the register button located on the left hand side.

PLEASE NOTE!

*The Social Network and the Support System have separate log in areas! You must register separately at each website to use them both*

2u1eizqj2xpdywbefnqewzy6n0d46ecl

Once you get to the registration page you will need to provide the required information

Your Full Name (It is best if you use your FULL Second Life name)

Your Email

Create a New Password

Confirm Your New Password

You will also need to verify your registration by entering a Captcha

Then click SIGN UP to complete your registration!

29v6qhjlchdu2ue5xrljs0w1bbzksf9v

Once registered and signed in you will next click on the SUBMIT A TICKET BUTTON

hemhgp0in6tczz9ytbbsal4u5r6jonst

Next you will choose the department that best suits your issue or problem and hit the next button

x0yuoe25zyzlzrmh8uzfil5wiwzn3q0o

After you select the appropriate department hit the next button you will now be on the page where you will put in the information about your issue.

You can leave the priority level at normal

Put in your FULL SecondLife name not your display name

Put the subject of your ticket such as “missing Horse” Or “did not get horse food”

In the large box you will give all the detailed information about your issue or problem. The more specific you are and the more information you provide, the better.

Once you have finished putting all the information, click the SUBMIT button.

elpal42tiwb0uaco4pwtujtfcgcfvk47

Emails are usually sent when a response is posted in your support ticket.

pc5xc17rwbiua5j6u7sv12d5ommn9cwj

You can also check the status of your ticket by logging in to the support system and viewing your ticket.

fmfthrtqflhnz703n25vmqdupp15uvj3

That’s it!! You did it! You just filed a support ticket for your issue!! An Amaretto Customer Service Representative (CSR) will be responding in your ticket with further information or instructions about completing your support ticket. Please note, our CSRs will not contact you in world. All communication must be done through the ticket system. If information is requested, please provide it in the ticket itself. Please do not message or send a notecard to the CSR. The CSRs are very busy and may miss or overlook the message or notecard and this could  delay the completion of your support ticket. Tickets can take 48-72 hours to get a response from a CSR. Please be patient with us, especially at peak times such as updates or when new Amaretto products are released!

Here are a few tips and tricks that can help out when filing a supoort ticket with Amaretto…

~ If the CSR ask you for a slurl, make sure they are on your allowed list and paste the slurl to the breedable your having a issue.

You can get a slurl by going there in world and opening the map and choosing the copy slurl option. This copies your ordinates in world and now you will be able to post them. A slurl will look like this:

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Amaretto%20Ranch%20Horses/57/155/22

~ If the CSR asks you to please send your breedable in world with your full SL name and Amaretto Ticket number. Thank you.

This means you make a folder in your inventory name your folder just as the CSR asked you.

Example: Jaymee Caproni JPM-222-22395

This ensures that your breedable will not get lost in a inventory and will be easily matched with your ticket. If you do not do this our CSRS can not be responsible for random objects being sent to them. If your breedable is not in a folder it will be sent back to you!!!! (if we can find out who it belongs too)

~Make sure that you are sending the breedable to the correct CSR. Don’t assume it will be the same one who did your last ticket. Read your responses carefully and send to the proper CSR.

~ Always include your full SL name!
~ Include any transaction in reference to not delivered items or even duplicated breedables that you recently purchased!
~ Always be respectful to the Amaretto Staff they will help you in any way they can.
~ Be sure to include enough information such as UUID’s, Parents information if having a bundle issue, or names of a missing horse.
~ YOU MUST CHECK YOUR TICKET FOR A RESPONSE!! (if you do not respond in 3 days we will close your ticket)

~ Please understand if you are not showing as owner of a breedable on our servers we can not return it to you. (That means no tickets for friends, family, or partners) You wouldn’t want us to send your horse to someone else!

I hope this has helped clear up any questions or concerns about filing a support ticket with Amaretto!!

Happy breeding! Until next time…

Spotlight on Handy Links to Have

Happy Thursday!  As you all know part of our job here at Amaretto is to watch the Amaretto Groups and answer questions when they arise.  Well after watching groups lately I have decided that it’s time to shine the Spotlight on some previous blogs that contain links to some very important information that can be beneficial to not only new breeders but at times to ALL breeders!  Take a look at the ones I’ve listed below and if you meet a new Breeder or a Breeder that you think could benefit from any of the blogs below send them the link to this blog and answer a lot of questions all at once!

1st and one of the most important links you should look over is the one that tells you Who’s Who at Amaretto.

http://amarettobreedables.com/connection/?p=10054

Amaretto Team photo

Another important blog to keep handy is the one about translating websites in case you need that for someone who’s 1st language is not English.

http://amarettobreedables.com/connection/?p=9751

Now this blog I just wrote recently and there are 3 parts to it (so far) examining the Amaretto Website and the many great tools you will find there.

One of the most frequently asked questions in the group is what something looks like.  In this blog I will teach you how to use the search feature on the wiki to locate whatever it is you might be looking for.  It’s fast, easy and painless… promise! You will find the links to the other 2 blogs I wrote about the website there also.

http://amarettobreedables.com/connection/?p=9862

Unfortunately for us all this Blog on Copybotters is needed far more often than any cares for.  Please be sure to read this one and remember the fastest way to protect yourself is to slow down and look before you buy.

http://amarettobreedables.com/blogs/5/131/copybotters-again

CopyBot-Ad24nov2012

A question that comes up all the time in group chat is still about the horn on the horses that doesn’t show in stats.  These horses should be sent in to be fixed and you can read all about this in this blog.

http://amarettobreedables.com/connection/?p=8793

Many of you have been having trouble finding certain Amaretto sims that recently received a face lift courtesy of our own builder extraordinaire Nashville Cortes.  This blog will not only tell you about the remodeling it will also provide you with the link to our Locations page where you can always find current Amaretto Landmarks!

http://amarettobreedables.com/connection/?p=10074

IMG_19092015_160132

Now this last blog will help you learn even more than you thought you could by helping you join Amaretto Ranch University!  ARU is not just for those new to Amaretto breeding it’s also great for those of you that have been around for a long time … you’re never to old to learn something new!  Check out the blog and if you haven’t taken the classes be sure to check out ARU!

http://amarettobreedables.com/connection/?p=9675

aru-terminal

Now in conclusion of the information packed blog I want to give you the TWO most important links in any breeders life.  These links should be a part of your every day life in SL, the same as checking your animals for bundles, kennels and nests you should also make time to check these 2 links for the latest and greatest up to date news from Amaretto!

Remember we’re all in this together so use this blog to reach out and help your fellow breeder when you see they have questions!

Until next time Happy breeding!!!

Interviews with an Auctioneer

Yesterday I enjoyed talking with and interviewing johnslabaugh Residentl! He is very nice and easy to talk to, and funny too! Below are the questions I asked him today and his answers.

johnslabaugh
Q.When did you first start being an auctioneer?

A johnslabaugh Resident: Well I was 7 days old and tricked into calling at rebel winds

Q.What made you decide to be an auctioneer?

A. johnslabaugh Resident: Well I was very young and innocent and was being told I would be good at it so one day I was at the auction and there was no auctioneer and the owner asked me john please can you try, and I said ok so I got going the best I could and what do you know all the stall came in, i was tricked into calling but I wouldn’t trade it for anything now I love what I do and I believe it shows

Q. When you first started auctioneering , what breedable were you auctioning for?

A. Johnslabaugh Resident: Horses of course

Q.What do you feel is the most difficult thing for you, being an Auctioneer?

A.johnslabaugh Resident: I would have to say having a no sale auction, it kills me I’m my worst critic

Q. What is your favorite type of auction to call?

A. johnslabaugh Resident: Well that’s easy I’m old school, I
love the old school feel of a classic panel auction

Q.What do you feel makes a good auctioneer?

A. johnslabaugh Resident: I feel that to be a good auctioneer you have to be yourself if you can’t be yourself then why try there’s lots of different styles out there and they are all great auctioneers just being themselves.

Q. What is the funniest thing that has ever happen to you when calling an auction?

A. johnslabaugh Resident: Well I remember one time I made a bet, well I lost that bet so I had to come to an auction and call it wearing anything that the person had got for me to wear, well it ending up being lingerie, pink at that.

Just by the answers to the questions I asked, you can really tell that he really enjoys being an auctioneer,.

If you are an Auctioneer and would like to be interviewed, just send a notecard titled Interview of a Auctioneer with your sl name on it to Maleficent Farshore!
