Hue Traits – Horses

Hello to all my fellow Amaretto Breeders!

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Today it’s my turn to post a connection, and I would like to take a moment to talk about Hues in the horses.

Wiki Link Here

These hue traits can be put on the hair and the coat of any horse and give a unique look to it and it is worth experimenting to see what you can come up with, whether it is mixing the coat chill with a blue coat and making a super blue horse or mixing the coat hue teal with a red coat to make a super deep dark green horse… the possibilities are endless, so try them out!

That’s all from me. So check the hues out, mix them up, get creative and enjoy the results of what you come up with.

Happy Breeding, Hugs Marku.

Interview with an Amaretto Breeder

Hi everyone hope you are all having an awesome Saturday!

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing one of our community members RoseSoftheNorth.

Please tell the community a little about yourself and what brought you to Second Life?
I first came to Second Life in 2007, after seeing a segment on my local news station about it. I thought that it looked interesting, so I checked it out. Once here I found myself becoming involved with Role playing and ultimately became staff for one of the leading role playing sims in Second Life at it’s time. From there I became involved in a serious Second Life relationship for a number of years. When that did not work out, I left Second Life for a few years, and have recently returned.

Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
I started with Amaretto Horse Breeding, and added Ponie Pals in June when they were released. I have also done a little breeding with Amaretto K9’s, but honestly I mostly did that because I wanted a couple of Rottie’s on my property, so they are mostly just pets who will breed while they can.

How did you get started in breedables?
I was actually gifted a pair of horses.  I had no idea what this community was about, and not the foggiest idea of what to do with these horses. I attended an auction at Misfits, and from there I met Lesbianna and Greyson Summerwind, who were excellent mentors for me. I also met my very dear friend Salome Breil .. all three of these beautiful people answered my millions of intial questions. Everytime I birthed a new trait, i would be in their IM’s asking what is this, it’s so pretty it must be a rare trait that EVERYONE is going to want right?

From there, I found myself at Minx and was welcomed with open arms by everyone there. The Minx family soon became my family in this wonderful world of breedables and gave me the confidence to bring in my projects and learn about auctions. Soon I found myself expanding to other auctions such as E&S, Gerri’s, The Livingroom and Bambina’s. At all of these places I met more and more wonderful people in this community, who soon became friends, who I could count on seeing around the Auctioning Community.

Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
Yes.. I have kittycats .. they are for pets though I would love to one day learn about breeding dragons, but for now Horses and ponies take up most of my time.

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
I am working on Disdain’s, I just need to find a horn, or maybe the Amaretto Gods will send me one.. I also LOVE working on the birth month flower/gem .. my favorite by far, is the Morning Glory Sapphire, partially because it is my birth month, but also because it is just a beautiful eye that goes with many of my projects. I’ve started to also collect the gem/flower eye that comes from breeding the birth month coat.

What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable?
I love the Horses by far at this point. There are just so many opportunities with the amount of traits that I can work with, It gets my creative juices flowing. I am looking forward to more traits being released with Ponie Pals too. Yes I’ve have my Summer Edition Sharks and can’t wait to see what comes up from them

What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?
95% of my time is spent breeding or auctioning. When I am not doing that, I love hanging out with friends, in and out of the breeding community,I love shopping for hair and clothes. I have been known to attend clubs from time to time to listen to good DJ’s spin the tunes and to do a bit of dancing. Or You might find me on the Blake Sea sailing with friends. Exploring Second Life is always on the agenda. There is always something new to find.

Thank you Rose for taking the time to share your love of Amaretto!

Until next time Happy Breeding!!!

Renaming Your Amarettos

This is a topic near and dear to my heart for my very first connection. While some breeders may have their own renaming system, and it works for them, not everyone renames their bundles/kennels/nests/baskets when they drop. This can make it very hard for them to find a specific coat or trait when its called for, for those special breedings Amaretto does, or even just a project you want to work on. Its also easier for Amaretto to find lost horses, dogs, birds, or ponies if they’re renamed, and easier for people to remember a name even if they don’t remember what traits or have the uuid. Another positive side to renaming is giving possible customers the ability to search for a bundle by coat or trait at markets.

Notice the one on the left has the coat, eyes, long long, and F for female in the name, while the other says amaretto breedables bundle. Sooooooo many bundles named that on the grid lol, not to mention how it shows in your inventory.

I have my own system, which usually starts with the names of the parents so I can see full siblings at a glance, the coat, eyes, any special traits I might need, and gender. Any system you come up with that you can remember is good, the point is to rename them for easier trait searches  in your inventory later on.  Also if you always rename before picking them up they don’t pile up on you. It only takes a few minutes to rename , and saves you hours of headache searching for that special bundle when Amaretto announces their coat of the month, for instance. Or when you’re looking for something special to sell.

I also want to urge you all to rename your live animals. It’s so sad to see them running around without their own names, even if its just-Blue Roan boy- for instance. And it also makes them easier to find if they get lost

I hope this  helps with naming all those breedable drops, and encourages everyone to RENAME. Have a great weekend
