On October 28th, 2013 Amaretto released the 2013 Collectors Edition Halloween Barnyard Birds! Any breeding of these 2013 Collectors Edition Halloween Barnyard Birds gave a chance at getting one of the hidden surprises. These surprises were the Shades Slime, Panic, and Pumpkin!
On Monday December 18, 2013 Amaretto released the 2013 Holiday Barnyard Birds! Any breeding of these 2013 Holiday Barnyard Birds gave a chance at getting one of the hidden surprises. These surprises were the Shades Fire and Frost!
On February 9, 2015 Amaretto released the Valentines Day Collectors Edition Barnyard Birds. By breeding these 2015 Valentines Day Collectors Edition together they gave a chance at getting one of the hidden surprises. These surprises were the shades Love and Sunshine!
These traits are one of my favorites in the barnyard birds because it can completely change the look of a breed, for example if you mix a red breed with the slime shade you get a super dark green colour – this is only one of many combinations you can try out.
There is lots of fun to be had with mixing these shades with different breeds to see how they look.
That’s all from me. So get out there, play with some shades and make some unique cool looking birds!

It’s Valentine’s Day! Happy February 14th! Chocolate and cards and flowers! Where exactly does the tradition of giving gifts and cards on this particular day come from?
Valentine’s Day flowers began as a tradition in the 17th century, since roses, which represent love in all its forms, were the flowers of choice for the Day. The rose is supposed to be the favorite flower of Venus, the Goddess of Love. Throughout school, we all gave cards to our classmates, but where did this tradition of Valentine’s Day cards begin? Well, back in 1415, Charles the Duke of Orleans wrote a poem for his wife while imprisoned in the Tower of London on Valentine’s Day. By the 16th century, cards had become so common on Valentine’s Day that several religious leaders preached against them. By the early 19th century, it was the most popular way to show your love on the special day. What would Valentine’s Day be without chocolate? Well we can thank the Spanish explorers who brought chocolate back to the Old World from the New World in the 17th century. Soon enough the popularity increased in Europe and chocolate, possibly for its aphrodisiac effects, became the candy of choice for the lover’s holiday.
Amaretto brought us Valentine LEs starting in 2011, with a random drop of That’s Love, That’s Amor, That’s Amore and That’s Amour LEs. The coats could not pass.
This began a long tradition of random drops or purchasable Limited Edition Horses, Special Edition K-9s, Collectors Edition Barnyard Birds and Deluxe Edition Ponie Pals. Along with those came other traits in horses like wings, brands, socks, horns, saddles, and ear tips! In K-9s we added new collars, new nose traits, new Paw Warmers, new Dipped Ears, and in 2019 the new Dipped Tail trait. From the Valentine Barnyard birds we got new beaks and legs, the Wing trait, new Shades and in 2019 the Whacky Wattle! The Valentine Ponie Pals gave us wings, and new horns! You can find pictures and information on all these traits on the Wiki

Happy Saturday everyone I hope your weekend is off to a great start.
Today we are going to shine the spotlight on our Horses and the Sock trait.
The Sock trait was introduced with the Limited Edition 2013 Valentine Horses that were on sale from February 7, 2013 through February 22, 2013.
On February 7, 2013 a twist to the Limited Edition 2013 Valentine Horses was announced. If you breed a Limited Edition 2013 Valentine Horses with a Limited Edition 2013 Valentine Horses you will have the ability to get a new trait called Socks.
From October 1, 2013 through October 9, 2013 the Limited Edition 2013 Fall Horses were on sale. By breeding these Limited Editions with any other horse you had the chance at getting 1 of 4 new Sock colors, Black, White, Green or Rainbow.
Spring Editions were available from March 20th, 2018 to Tuesday April 3, 2018! Hiding inside these Spring Editions was the Daisy & Plumeria Sock!
Please note that socks are an alternative to hoof traits so you may only have one or the other on a horse.
A Null trait is an “Invisible trait”, a placeholder. These
placeholders were implemented as a way to allow the breeder to have a
maximum trait horse but still look the way they want it to look.
The Great Dane is a domestic dog known for its giant size. The record holder for the tallest dog ever is a Great Dane called Zeus who measured 44 inches from paw to shoulder. In the middle of the 16th century, the nobility in many countries of Europe imported strong, long-legged dogs from England, which were descended from crossbreeds between English Mastiffs and Irish Wolfhounds. These dogs were called Englische Docke or Englische Tocke – later written and spelled: Dogge – or Englischer Hund in Germany. The name simply meant “English dog”. These dogs were bred in the courts of German nobility, independent of the English methods, since the start of the 17th century. The dogs were used for hunting boar, bear, and deer at princely courts, with the favorites staying at night in the bedchambers of their lords.
In 1878, a committee was formed in Berlin which changed the name of the “Englische Dogge” (English mastiff derivatives) to “Deutsche Dogge” (German mastiff), this being the Great Dane. This laid the foundations from which the breed was developed. The Great Dane’s large and imposing appearance belies its friendly nature. They are known for seeking physical affection with their owners, and the breed is often referred to as a “gentle giant” They are a smooth coated dog with a regal bearing with short floppy ears, which are usually cropped. This was due to the practice of keeping the ears short when they hunted. The practice is common in the United States for show dogs, but in some European countries the practice is banned.
On April 23, 2012 Amaretto released the K-9 Update Version 1.4 and Great Danes were one of the Non-Starter Coats added. You could have a chance at one of the four colors of Great Danes by breeding any K-9 with a starter K-9 or by breeding together two starter K-9s. The coat can be passed. One of the cute dog animations is the way the Dane lies in a regal reclining position with forelegs crossed, like this Christmas SE.
In addition to the four colors shown here, real Great Danes also come in several other colors including blue- the colour is a pure steel blue, and merle.
I hope you enjoy breeding these lovely, graceful looking dogs.
Hey guys I know how much you like updating soooo………… lets do it again! Please read the notes below carefully!
AFTER FEBRUARY 21, 2020 WE WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR K-9s THAT ARE NOT v3.01
K-9s MUST BE UPDATED TO V3.01 TO FUNCTION PROPERLY!
Q: What do you mean by “not function properly”? A: ALL versions that are not v3.01 will no longer produce viable offspring. Meaning any kennel produced by all versions that are not v3.01 will have the text BAD_DATA_NO_PARENTS, or EXPIRED_BREEDING, will not birth and CANNOT BE FIXED.
***So PLEASE update your K-9s before FEBRUARY 21, 2020
Update v3.01 Fixes:
Fixes:
v3.0 Starters not recognizing food type (Starters include: Packs, Gachas, Paradise Puppies)
IF USING THE SINGLE UPDATER, PLEASE MAKE SURE K-9S SET TO PET FOOD BEFORE ARE RESET TO PET FOOD AFTER UPDATING
Somethings you need to know about the updater:
It will not work if there is more than one updater out. It gives you a message that there are 2 updaters out please remove one. If you continue to try and update your K-9 It will give you another error message and have you pick one updater up and reset the other. (touch and wait 5 seconds to reset)
It will not update pregnant K-9s. The reason being the updater can potentially abort the pregnancy. Waiting to update your pregnant K-9s will not effect the K-9s functions, they will continue to eat, move, animate etc. When they give birth to the kennel, then you can update them. The kennel will be the old version and need to be updated when birthed.
The updater will not work on sims with a high load. Dilation needs to be above .65 and region fps must be above 25 for the updater to work. You will get an error message that says the sim dilation is too low, we have enclosed a sim monitor that will display these values for you. Just rez on your sim next to the updater.
Update Instructions:
Single Updater: Place the updater near the K-9 that isn’t updated and click the K-9 and click the update button. The K-9 will be updated and the settings will be the same as before the update process. DO NOT PICK UP K-9s OR THE UPDATER UNTIL IT HAS COMPLETED THE UPDATE PROCESS
Bulk Updater: Place the bulk updater in the middle of your K-9 breeding area, click the updater and adjust the settings you want your K-9s to be set to after the update process, then click the update K-9s button on the updater menu. This updater has the ability to update all K-9s that are not v3.01 in an entire region. However, depending on sim performance it may only do the K-9s in a 96 meter radius. Do not remove the updater until it has completed updating all K-9s and the hover text above the updater reads FINISHED. DO NOT PICK UP K-9s OR THE UPDATER UNTIL IT HAS COMPLETED THE UPDATE PROCESS
Updaters can be found at all K-9 locations listen on the location page:
