Happy Sunday Amaretto Community!! It’s that time again to use my Customer Connection day to introduce you to each of the Amaretto Satellite Store locations! This week I had the pleasure of interviewing BettyBoop Rhode, she is in the group so if you see her send her a big hello . Thank you BettyBoop for letting me interview you this week !

Please tell the community a little about yourself. Where you are from and what brought you to Second Life?
Hi my rl name is Betty and i’m from Florida,USA. It was friends from another chat site that brought me to SL and i’ve been here just over 8 yrs.

Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
I have horses and K-9’s.

How did you get started in breedables?
My friend Bones brought a few to sell at a store/business we owned together. I saw this little pony i fell in love with. I still have her and she’s just over 5 and a half years old.

*Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
No, not at this time. I prefer Amaretto’s.

*What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
I am working on Safari Havens and any and all Crazed. I am hooked on them.

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto K-9s ?
I am breeding Miniature Schnauzer’s in hopes of getting a Crazed one.

 
What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable ?
Gotta be the horses after all these years.

What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?
I like doing hunts and hanging out with friends.

Happy 2^nd of July!!! Today in my Spotlight I wanted to share pictures with all of you of this month’s new Flags of the World eye. Since it is Independence Day here in the United States this weekend this month’s eye is Flags of the World – United States!!!

I was looking for a poem or quote or something Patriotic to share with you along with the pictures of this month’s eye and found something that I thought was even more fascinating!! It fits in perfectly especially since I am doing this Spotlight on July 2^nd.

On July 3, 1776 John Adams wrote a letter to his wife, Abigail Adams and predicted the celebrations of American Independence Day, including the parties:

“It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shows, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other.”

He almost perfectly predicted how we’d celebrate the holiday more than 200 years later.  He got almost everything right except the date.  At the bottom of the second page of the letter, he says to his wife:

“But the Day is past.  The Second Day of July 1776 will be the most memorable Epocha in the History of America.”

Behind closed doors, the 2^nd Continental Congress voted for independence on July 2.  But the signing ceremony for the Declaration of Independence didn’t happen until July 4.  Because July 4 appears on the famous document, that date became the one we celebrate as Independence Day!!

But before you suggest that July 2^nd replace July 4^th you should know many historians believe the Declaration of Independence wasn’t complete until the final draft was fully signed on August 2.  Can you imagine saying Happy 2^nd of August? Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it now does it!

So now don’t ever say you didn’t learn anything from my Spotlights!! They’re full of knowledge!!!

The Amaretto Mentor Program!!

Did you ever just wish you had someone that could help you understand your breedables better,? Maybe you just want a second opinion on something that you are thinking about trying to do in your breeding plans.You know the saying, sometimes 2 heads are better than 1. Well this is the Program for you!

The Amaretto Mentor Program was an idea born from our wonderful staff and community via the A.M.O.C. group meetings, and is a group that will help anyone in need of information and guidance from an experienced breeder.

There are two sign up boards available. One is to become a Mentor and one is to become a Mentee. Lets see what the difference is!

The Mentors are giving people who are willing to help with issues and questions one might have when breeding Amaretto animals, Mentors will not be Amaretto Staff. Of course the Mentors will be able to contact Amaretto Staff with any questions they may have, and the staff also loves to pop in on the group and chat too, but we want to encourage everyone in the community to extend a helping hand and share your knowledge of Amaretto Breedables.

Sign up as a Mentor

If you would like to help out a new breeder or even a breeder that’s been in the game for a while who just has some questions, then we encourage you to go to the Haven sim, University sim or the Amaretto main store and sign up to become a Mentor. You can click the “Become a Mentor” board and you will be assigned a group tag of Mentor. Then you just need to go into the Amaretto Mentor group and introduce yourself and see if anyone needs any help!

Sign up as a Mentee

Now if you have questions about breeding or you’re a new breeder in the community, you can go to the Haven sim, University sim or the Amaretto main store and sign up to become a Mentee. You can click the “New to Amaretto Breedables” board and you will be assigned a group tag of Mentee. Then you just need to go into the Amaretto Mentor group and introduce yourself and ask if anyone is around that could answer some of your questions!

Once you click the board we will be sending you the group invite, if you missed the invite you can contact me, Maleficent Farshore and I will make sure you get the invite resent to you.

This group is amazing, and is also a great way to meet other breeders, and make lots of new friends! Soooo until next time, Happy Breeding!!!!
