Interview with an Amaretto Breeder

Hi everyone hope you all are having a spectacular Saturday! This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Zues Burali aka Big Daddy ZuZu!  If you see Zues in the groups or just hanging around make sure to say hello!

Please tell the community a little about yourself and what brought you to Second Life?
I’ve been in Second Life for over 11 years. Its not so important what brought me to SL, but rather what kept me here. The people, the experiences….this game…this world can be so amazing, so rewarding.

I met my SL/RL wife Sonoma, here in SL, almost 11 years ago. We consider ourselves to be a rare SL love success story, still going strong, still in love, still happy!

I’ve owned breedables in SL for, gosh, about 7 years now. I’ve been a breedbales auctioneer for almost 7 years as well. I’ve called everything from Amaretto Horses and Ponies, to WK Cats, Meeroos, Mossms, etc. I spend most of my time in SL doing something breedable related, whether it be pairing & breeding, buying, sell, going to auctions or redoing my pens/platforms to be a more efficient breeder. I love meeting other breeders, both vets and newbies. I enjoy making friends and helping when/where I can.

Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
Mainly just the Ponie Pals currently. I have a few Amaretto horses still, from my days doing those. One in particular that I must mention is named Everest. He has been with me for over 2400 days in SL. He was the very first Hazel/Blue Albino on the grid and sparked what ended up being a very successful run with Amaretto Horses. He now sits comfortably in his special stall my wife has made for him on our home sim.

How did you get started in breedables?
It was a LONG time ago. About 7 years to be more precise…I was hearing about Bunnies…bunnies this and bunnies that…which I had no interest in. Then one day a friend of ours told us of this new breedable that just hit the grid, Amaretto Horses. It was amazing they said and they are having auctions and what not and we must check them out. That night we went to a horse auction at The Ranch of Dreams. We went there just wanting to check it out and to see what all the commotion was about. We left with empty pockets and too many horses to remember. The rest is history.

Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
No, not currently. A few years ago, shortly before I left SL for what I thought was going to be forever (obviously Im back now and its like I never left) I had dabbled in WK Cats, Meeroos, Mossms and Gorillas. I never really got anything out of any of those, that I feel I got out of the Horses or the Ponies.

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
Well… we work with alot of different breeding projects with our ponies. Some of them being double ears, high traits, etc.

One project we just achieved success in was producing a Long Mane and Long Tail (a.k.a Double Long) Ponie. We did this just a few days ago, on a stud. We were very excited, not only because we had been able to succeed in a breeding project we had been working on for weeks and invested alot of time and money into but also because it was the one thing that my wife, Sonoma, had wanted above everything else when we started the Ponie Pals. She wanted us to have double longs.

What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable?
Currently Ponie Pals, if you had asked me about 3-4 years ago it would have been Amaretto Horses, hands down.

What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?

I enjoy going to auctions quite a bit, but spending time with family and friends on here would be one of the things I enjoy the most.

One of my favorite family activities to do on SL is Movie/Show night!. My SL family, my wife Sonoma and I all watch a netflix movie together. We get together at the home sim and sit in our comfy chairs. We all turn on Netflix in RL whether it be on computers or TVs and then sync our start times to  watch the movie/show together. We mic up and laugh or talk about the movie on occasion and it really does feel like family time.

Thank you Big Daddy ZuZu for taking the time to share your story and your love of Amaretto!

Until next time Happy Breeding!!!

Hungry & Sick Breedables!

Happy Monday Amaretto breeders!! Who is ready for the new week!? I hope it is a good one for everyone!! Today I wanted to take some time to help with two of the most common questions I see in the Amaretto groups.  “Help my breedable isn’t eating!” or “Help my breedable is sick!”  There are quite a few things you can try to get your breedable eating again but remember if all else fails you can always file a ticket on the Amaretto Support site and have a CSR help you look into it.

Let’s talk a little about the food for your breedables first. The Ponie Pals only have 1 food type, Ponie Pal Grub. You will feed this to your ponies to keep them healthy and able to breed. The Horses, K-9s, and Birds all have two different type foods available. Breeder Food is for Horses, K-9’s or Barnyard Birds that you want to breed. Pet food is used when you do not wish to breed your animal.  If  you decide later that you do wish to breed them it will take 7 days of them eating Breeder food for the Pet food to wear off.

Using Food:

1. Rez the Food within your breedables set range. (A breedable’s default range is 5 meters)

2. You can click the Food to change options and see remaining %. Options include Owner only, Group only, and All.

A.  Owner only: Will only be consumed by the owners breedable.

B.  Group only: Will only be consumed by breedables in the same group as the food/water is set to.

C.  All: Any breedable within range of the food/water will be able to consume it.

Once the Food has been completely consumed it will disappear.

In case your breedable gets hungry try these tips:

1. Re-rez fixes 99% of the issues.

2. If the land is set to a group, are the breedables and food set to that group? Some sims have it set that no scripts can run unless they are set to the right group as the land.

3. If the land isn’t set to a group, then check that the breedables and food are set to the same group as each other. So often the food is in one group and the breedable in another. The food is set to feed only those in the same group and before you know it you have sick breedables

4. For the horses, k-9s and birds, check to see if the breedable is set to the type of food out (You can check this in their More Stats)

5. Re-set home position.

If your Breedable still doesn’t eat after trying this, you will need to file a support ticket. Please include a location URL, so that we can come out and see them, in world. Please make sure that we have permission to come on the land.

Remember if you put a Breedable in your inventory it will get hungry.

For the horses, k-9s and birds, they will eat once every hour. If food is not present their hunger and thirst will rise until it reaches 100% (or in the case of the Barnyard Birds until it reaches 0%) at which time they will get sick, this will take 3 days

For the ponies, they will eat once every 96 minutes. If food (Grub) is not present their Grub will rise until it reaches 100% at which time they will get sick. This can take 5 days.

A Healing Kit for horses, Vaccination for K-9s, Flu Shot for Birds, and Ponie Noodle Soup for Ponies can be used to heal your breedable.

The horses, k-9s and birds, will eat their way out of sickness. Horses and K-9s take approximately 3 days and Barnyard Birds take 4 days.

To use a Healing kit, Vaccination, Flu shot or Noodle Soup, simply rez the item nearby your sick breedable. Click your breedable select consumables and select Healing kit, Vaccination, Flu shot or Noodle Soup. Before your eyes your Breedable will go from sick back to perfect health.

So there you have it all you need to know if your breedable starts to become sick.

Happy Breeding & Feeding!!

Until next time….

Gotta Collect Them All!

Hi Everyone 🙂

I hope everyone is having a great weekend 🙂

As many of you know I am a hoarder with my Amarettos, so for my connection today I wanted to talk to you all about collecting your breedables.

Amaretto have made many Limited Edition (Horses), Special Edition (K-9s), Collectors Edition (Barnyard Birds) and now Deluxe Edition (Ponie Pals) animals throughout the years that you can collect, they are all super awesome and unique in different ways.

From the very first Leopard Appaloosa LE’s to the current da-dum da-dum da-dums there are many you can collect, forever foal (so you dont need to feed them all forever!) and proudly display them out on your land or keep them in folders/boxes to chart your very own Amaretto journey as a breeder.

As the collectables get older and older they will likely become “rarer” due to people leaving SL, deleting them or just forgetting they have them in inventory so it is great to collect and cherish these while you can, and hold onto them!.

So get collecting!

That was all from me today, Hugs Marku

Interview with an Amaretto Breeder

Hi everyone hope your Saturday is a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious one!!

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing DelaneyyLuv. You will often see Delaney in the groups so feel free to say hello when you do.

Please tell the community a little about yourself and what brought you to Second Life?
I’m from The US and I first started Second Life in 2009. I’ve always been into the online virtual world games. I began role-playing on a site called The Avatar Palace, then moved to VSide, and from there found out about Second Life. I’ve been here ever since, it’s so diverse and has something for everyone. If I’m not doing something with my breedables, you can usually find me at a roleplay-sim or piddling around in my gacha stores.

Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
I own both the Amaretto Horses and Ponies. I began with the horses and now that the ponie pals were released in June, I breed those as well. I’m also looking into breeding the Amaretto Birds too.

How did you get started in breedables?
Jayd, Tj’s daughter introduced me to horses. She began breeding them and after seeing the different ones she had, TJ and I both got interested and began the adventure together. It was so EXCITING! We would walk around the different horse markets and attend different auctions, looking at everyones creations. Constantly saying: Hey did you see that? Look at that over there! WOW this is pretty! Everything was new to us, we had no clue where to begin. After figuring out a few things that we liked, we purchased about 5 horses each. Of course that doubled and now we have our own ranch and store called: Ecstasy Ranch.

All the different creations you can combine in the horses really are amazing. I love seeing what everyone creates and puts together through different projects. I also love the community. Since joining the Amaretto Community, I have met some amazing people and made some of my closest friends.

Now that the ponies are released, it’s just like when we started horses, seeing all of the new traits coming out. So exciting I’m constantly bugging Tj saying: WOW! Did you see this?!

Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
Yes.. Papillons, but only for my garden. Other than that, I only breed Amaretto.

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
I have a few projects in the works such as my Obsidian line called Black Diamond and my Okapi Wine line, called White Wine! I still enjoy breeding my cyan projects and of course my double cotton candy!

What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable?
I’d have to say the horses. There is so many traits and different things you can do with them! I’ve always got new ideas running through my mind. The ponies are a very very close second. They are so darn cute!

What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?
I love Role-Playing. I participate in many different rp sims and even own one. I also enjoy building and creating things. I’ve been developing a few products, such as The Ultimate Bundle, Kennel, and Nest Detector and many other decoration items. I also enjoy the fashion side of Second Life, creating different outfits and even considering starting a blog! But if I’m doing none of those things, I can be found exploring the different sims and things Second Life has to offer or simply annoying TJ! ( LOL! )

Thank you Delaney for taking the time to share your love of Amaretto!

Until next time Happy Breeding!!!

Flags Of The World Eyeballs

Hey Guys!

Its Monday and the start of a new week \o/ – let’s hope it’s going to be an awesome one.

l wanted to touch on the flags of the world series of eyes. These eyes drop randomly each month from any breeding on the horses, k-9s and barnyard birds, so everyone breeding any of those has a chance at getting the flags of the world eye for that month.

The Flags of the World for this month (August 2017) is Jamaica

Taken from the wiki (click here for the wiki):

The Flags Of the World Eyes are one set of many exciting possible Non-Starter eyes that can come from breeding any coat.
You can have a chance at one of these exciting Non-Starter eyes as they are randomly dropped into bundles at the time the bundle drops.
Your horse needs to be version 5.0 and higher for this eye to drop.
These eyes CAN be passed on.

These eyes are awesome if you want to make a country designer animal or you just want something to represent your nationality or you might just want to collect everything like Markus. I am sure there are more flags to come so good luck in your breeding.

I am sure there are more flags to come so good luck in your breeding.

That’s it from me today, have a great day all and happy breeding all!
