What’s your favorite Element?

Hello everyone hope you are having an awesome Saturday and that your weekend is off to a great start! Today the spotlight is shining on the amazing Element Eyes & Elemental Horses!

First let’s take a look at these eyes! The Element Eyes are one set of many exciting possible Non-Starter eyes that can come from breeding Starter Coats.

For a closer look at any of these eyes check them out on the wiki at https://horse.amaretto.wiki/index.php?title=Element_Eyes

Amaretto is great for occasionally tossing in a few twists and turns. It was definitely a twist when Amaretto added the Elemental Horses!

The Elemental Horses can be randomly birthed by breeding together any two horses that have Element Eyes.

Elemental Horses can NOT pass their coat.  However breeding an Elemental Horse with another Elemental Horse or with any other horse with Element Eyes you will slightly increase your chance for another Elemental Horse.

For a closer look at any of these beauties check them out on the wiki at https://horse.amaretto.wiki/index.php?title=Elemental_Horses

Until next time this is Snookie hoping your weekend is awesome and you have a great week ahead!

Happy Breeding!!

Last Christmas

“O Tannenbaum” is a German Christmas song. Based on a traditional folk song which was unrelated to Christmas, it became associated with the traditional Christmas tree by the middle of the 19th century and sung as a Christmas carol. The modern lyrics were written in 1824 by the Leipzig organist, teacher and composer Ernst Anschütz. A Tannenbaum is a fir tree. The lyrics do not actually refer to Christmas, or describe a decorated Christmas tree. Instead, they refer to the fir’s evergreen quality as a symbol of constancy and faithfulness.

Anschütz based his text on a 16th-century Silesian folk song by Melchior Franck, “Ach Tannenbaum”. August Zarnack in 1819 wrote a tragic love song inspired by this folk song, taking the evergreen, “faithful” fir tree as contrasting with a faithless lover. The folk song first became associated with Christmas with Anschütz, who added two verses of his own to the first, traditional verse. The custom of the Christmas tree developed in the course of the 19th century, and the song came to be seen as a Christmas carol. Anschütz’s version still had treu (true, faithful) as the adjective describing the fir’s leaves (needles), harking back to the contrast to the faithless maiden of the folk song. This was changed to grün (green) at some point in the 20th century, after the song had come to be associated with Christmas.

Ponies feeling a Little Down?

Sometimes Ponies are not as healthy as they should be. Although we can prevent this as well. So let’s start there.

Ponies need to have Grub available to them at all times after they are birthed or they will become sick. So always check to make sure you have Grub out and that your grub and your Ponie are both under the same owners name or same group. (If it’s the same group you will have to update the Grub to show Group Only instead of Owner Only).

If you start to see your Ponies Grub going up, time to jump in there and make sure they do have Grub within their range set to their group. If they do, pick them up and re-rez them, sometimes this helps. If this still doesn’t work, send in a ticket to get more help.

Sadly if they do get sick, they cannot eat their way out of sickness like other breedables. Instead you will need to get them some Ponie Noodle Soup. This will heal them instantly.

Give Us A Kiss

People hold up a sprig of mistletoe and ask for or give a kiss at the holidays. Most of us know this tradition, but where did it come from? In Norse Mythology, Loki tricked the blind god Hodur into murdering his own twin brother Balder with an arrow made of mistletoe wood, being the only plant to which Balder was vulnerable. Some versions of the story have mistletoe becoming a symbol of peace and friendship to compensate for its part in the murder.
The Romans associated mistletoe with peace, love and understanding and hung it over doorways to protect the household.
From at least the mid-19th century, Caribbean herbalists of African descent have referred to mistletoe as “god-bush”. In Nepal, diverse mistletoes are used for a variety of medical purposes, particularly for treating broken bones.
Mistletoe is the floral emblem of the US state of Oklahoma and the flower of the UK county of Herefordshire. Every year, the UK town of Tenbury Wells holds a mistletoe festival and crowns a ‘Mistletoe Queen’.

In the Christian era, mistletoe in the Western world became associated with Christmas as a decoration under which lovers are expected to kiss, as well as with protection from witches and demons. Mistletoe continued to be associated with fertility and vitality through the Middle Ages, and by the 18th century it had also become incorporated into Christmas celebrations around the world. The custom of kissing under the mistletoe is referred to as popular among servants in late 18th-century England.
The serving class of Victorian England is credited with perpetuating the tradition. The tradition dictated that a man was allowed to kiss any woman standing underneath mistletoe, and that bad luck would befall any woman who refused the kiss. One variation on the tradition stated that with each kiss a berry was to be plucked from the mistletoe, and the kissing must stop after all the berries had been removed. People have reportedly been poisoned and died from consuming mistletoe.

One of the earliest references to mistletoe traditions in popular music is the 1952 hit “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”, which was originally sung by Jimmy Boyd and has been covered by many singers. The song was written by British songwriter Tommie Connor and recorded in the US. The 1958 US hit “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” refers to couples wanting to stop beneath the mistletoe. “Ring Out, Solstice Bells” from the album Songs from the Wood (1977) by British rock group Jethro Tull refers to the Druid Ritual of Oak and Mistletoe. In 1988, the British singer Cliff Richard released a popular Christmas song called “Mistletoe and Wine”. More recent Christmas songs referring to mistletoe traditions include “Merry Christmas Everyone” by Shakin’ Stevens (1991), “All I Want For Christmas Is You” written and performed by Mariah Carey (1994), “Underneath the Mistletoe” written and performed by Sia (2017), and “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber (2011).

When Amaretto first starting doing Showhorses, one of the Holiday coats was the Chimera Brindle Show Horse. Beginning December 5, 2012 to January 4th, 2013 any bundle dropped from the breeding of any 2 Chimera Brindle horses had the chance at being a Chimera Brindle Show Horse.

The Chimera Brindle Show Horse could be randomly birthed by breeding together any two horses that had Chimera Brindle Coats of any color.

The Chimera Show Horse could NOT pass their coat.
However, the Mistletoe & Holly eye that came with it DOES have the ability to pass. So if you hold your horse with that Mistletoe & Holly eye in the air over your avatar can you expect a kiss? You never know! Happy Breeding

Holly Turquoise Walker

Starting on April 1, 2017 Amaertto announced the release of all new Birthstone Flower Horses.

This beautiful coat DOES NOT have the ability to pass, but the all new eye DOES. So much like the show horses of the past, these beauties were fun to breed for!

The Holly Turquoise Walker coat DOES NOT have the ability to pass.

The Turquoise Holly Eye DOES have the ability to pass!

Group Breeding!

In today’s Connection, I want to explain how Group breeding is done. It’s a very easy way to keep your breedables together without separating them into pods and without fear of those “oopsie” breedings!

This will work for all your breedables – horses, K-9s, birds, and ponies. .

First, you need to make sure your sim or parcel will allow object entry from another group. You can do this by clicking the name of your parcel at the top of your screen to get the About Land box. When the box pops up, go to the Options tab and make sure that Object Entry is set to Everyone. Otherwise, you’ll see your mare in recovery but no bundle!

Second, click on a horse and go into edit mode. In the edit box, go to Group and click the wrench to the right. When the Groups box pops up, pick another group (doesn’t matter which, as long as your parcel allows it.)

Do this for each horse you wish to group together. Just make sure each breeding group is assigned to a different group.

Next, set all the horses in your breeding group to Group breeding. To do this, click the horse for their menu, click on Breeding, then Mating, and then select Group.

Now, they will only breed with the horses in the group you’ve set them to! See, super easy! I hope you find this information helpful and that you breed something amazing!

Until next time…HAPPY BREEDING! This is Ava over and out!
