Tomorrow is Easter and I really enjoy sharing facts & trivia with you all and a couple giggles too!! So today I went browsing and here are some Easter facts/trivia that I stumbled across.

Did you know that Easter derived its name from the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eastre, which symbolizes hare and egg and that Easter always falls between March 22 and April 25.

The custom of giving eggs at Easter time has been traced back from Egyptians, Gaul, Persians, Greeks and Romans, to whom the egg was a symbol of life.

Each year nearly 90 million chocolate bunnies are made and that when it comes to eating chocolate bunnies, the ears are preferred to be eaten first by as many as 76% of people.

The tallest Easter egg chocolate was made in Italy in 2011. It stood at 10.39 meters and weighed an astounding 7,200 kg.

The art of painting eggs is called pysanka, which originated in Ukraine. It involves using wax and dyes to color the egg.

Peep peep… did you know Americans buy more than 700 million marshmallow Peeps during Easter? This makes Peeps the most popular non-chocolate Easter candy.

Americans consume more than 16 million jelly beans during this holiday. That is enough jelly beans to circle the globe not once, not twice, but three times.

The White House tradition of the Easter Egg Roll started back in 1878, with President Rutherford B. Hayes!

The idea of the Easter bunny giving candies and eggs is said to have originated in Germany during the middle ages.

No matter how old you are or where you are in the world, Easter is a fun family tradition that never gets old.
