Hey, we missed it! Yesterday was National Dog Day! I saw lots of people posting pictures of their favorite dogs on the internet, some in cute poses, some sleeping, or playing. And of course I had to post a picture of one of my chihuahuas.
In fact, Chihuahuas were my first Amaretto dogs, so cute with their perky ears and happy faces. When Chihuahuas came out in 2012 I just HAD to have them, especially since two of the coats looked like my real dogs, the Tri-Color Chihuahua and the Fawn.
Amaretto K-9s are like the horses in breeding, they mature at age 7, must be at least 75% happy, take a few days to gain heat, 3 days to be pregnant, then 4 days to recover. Most breeders use one male for 4 females, sometimes 5. They do breed til they are 126, which is longer than the horses. Like the Amaretto Horse Hud, the K-9 Hud can only be used for one dog at a time, but you can use it to play fetch or walk your dog, which helps raise happiness.
At one time AMOC used to hold dog agility courses, using the hud to walk the dogs thru an obstacle course. Almost as much fun as in real life, with just as much laughs. I even built my own to practice on. Maybe one day we can do that again.
With all the dog breeds in Amaretto, chances are there is one for you. From Beagles and Boxers, to Wolves and Yorkies, and all the breeds in between it gives us many choices. If you don’t see one you would like to have, you can always turn in a suggestion at the Amaretto mailbox. Maybe someday they will have YOUR favorite breed.
