Aug.7,2014Today we’re going to shine the Spotlight on one of my favorite things in life, multi-tasking. We are all great multitasker’s in SL using our skills to name bundles, talk in groups and talk to friends in private messages. Well how many of you multi-task your breeding pens? Using one group of horses to breed for a few different things at once is the best way to maximize your prim usage and food budget.
The best example of the way I take multi-tasking to a whole new level is my pens where I try for 3 things at once. First I like to keep lots of low trait horses on hand so I breed for a lot of just Long/Long’s. Then I add to the long mane and tail a Galaxy eye, an Element eye or a Zodiac eye. Then I take a group of 4-5 females and 1 male with nothing but long mane and long tail and one of the “special” eyes and I breed those for their entire 120 days. As their bundles drop I have folders set up in my inventory to easily sort the bundles based on the father and mother. Now I have a full supply of sibling bundles with very few traits to use to make Albinos. But! This is where the real multi-tasking comes in! You are no longer just breeding for albinos! You now have the ability to set sibling groups that have the chance of giving you an Albino or a Galaxy horse/Elemental horse/Zodiac Horse depending on which eye you use!!
It is still a major thrill to check under your horse and discover an Albino or Galaxy or Elemental or Zodiac horse and when you multitask your breeding you never know which one of these you might discover under your horse!
