Happy Friday Everyone !! Hope everyone is having a good breeding day !!

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing CMoonwolf Resident she is currently taken classes at Amaretto University so if you see her give her a big hello.

*Please tell the community a little about yourself. Where you are from and what brought you to Second Life?
Originally from Fort Worth,Texas but now living in Portland,Oregon

*Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
All but only one of the birds lol

*How did you get started in breedables?
Well always wanted horses in real life and had them as a kid growing up on my granpas ranch but when he died I could no longer do so. So when I came to SL went hunting for horses and found Amaretto and was hooked.

*Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
Yes. i have a zoo, i have amarettos, Fennux, biobreeds, ABC, Papillion,kittycats, and ozimals bunnies

*What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
None at moment but in the past did marigolds on orange hue

*What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto K-9s
None don’t breed the k-9s just got certain ones for pets.
*What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable ?
Tough one it’s a tie between the horses and the dogs. but my favorite dog is my hellhound but love so many horses can’t decide on favorite of them so kinda lean to the horses as my favorite breedable.

*What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?
Shopping and dancing

Happy Thursday!  This week we are going to continue to shine my Spotlight on investigating the Amaretto Website/Social Network.  I have received a lot of positive feedback on this series of Spotlights and am excited to continue my investigation of one of the most valuable resources we have for the Amaretto Community!

This week we are going to start with the picture viewer at the top of the page.  Here you will be able to see the Picture of the Week winner each week and some other really cool pictures like the group shot of the Amaretto Staff. Be sure you pay attention to these wonderful photos whenever you visit the website as you never know when Miss Avalon might just misplace a picture or two!

Directly below the picture viewer you will see Recent Blog Entries.  This is another important section of the website to pay attention too since this is where Josie will post important blogs that the community needs to see.  You’ll see that right now there are blogs on the upcoming Amaretto 5th Birthday Sock Hop and a blog about Beta Testing.  Be sure you check this spot often so you know all the important happenings in the Amaretto Community.

Now this next part of the website is where all the fun happens!  What’s New!  This is where you can post messages to your friends and other members of the community, share pictures of your prized breedables, or just say Hello!  It’s one of my favorite parts of the Social Network, where the networking happens!

Finally, I want you to scroll back to the top of the page and look all the way at the top right.  Here you’ll see if you have any messages and the updates section will show you what activity has been going on with the social network.  You can get to your profile from these links and also check out the settings on your page.  You will not see the admin link as that is only available to Amaretto Staff. Next week we will cover some of the links in orange across the top. Until then, click around and see what everything does and it will be no time before you’re maneuvering around the Social Network like a pro!

Today we had the Amaretto Bowling event and everyone there had a great time!
This was the first time we had a bowling event. There were four lanes available to play on.. Everyone that came won a prize! Even two chickens were bowling!! Here are some pictures from today’s event below.

Happy Monday everyone! Today I wanted to talk to you all about the “Welcome to Amaretto” orientation classes offered by Amaretto. There are 3 separate classes one for horses, one for k-9, and one for birds. I personally teach these classes each Thursday and I cover the basics of raising and breeding Amaretto breedables. I also cover some need to know information for brand new breeders such as museums and ARU. These classes are free to all new breeders.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Anderson Artis. Be sure to give him a big hello when you see him.

Please tell the community a little about yourself. Where you are from and what brought you to Second Life?
I’m a Texan, however since retiring from the USAF I have been in California for over 20 years. I was introduced to Second Life by a good friend who writes movies, we were working on designing a city amongst other things in SL. He has not been in SL for over 4 years now.

Which Amaretto Breedables do you own?
Amaretto Horses

How did you get started in breedables?
I saw one of the Robo Charmed Horses two months after I started SL. and I was intrigued by that Horse and the price was $350-$500 USD! That’s why I started breeding.
Do you own other breedables besides Amaretto?
Pet Peddlers, Meeroos & Fennux Pet

What special projects are you working on right now with your Amaretto Horses?
I currently have several, We are breeding 19-24 trait horses and right now what ever comes out of this months Crazed Coat Shetland we hope to get. Our future projects are Zodiac, Elementals, Albino, and Confections with high traits. Improving our Charmed and Trophy horses collectibles.
What is your favorite Amaretto Breedable ?
Horses

What are some other things that you enjoy doing in Second Life when you’re not taking care of your breedables?
Improving our Husband & Wife relationship. Learning to Build, Intern Doctor at Little Blessings, Preaching/teaching the Gospel, dancing, exploring, communicating with others.

Happy Thursday!  I am excited to continue my investigation into the Amaretto Social Network this week!  I hope you all enjoyed the 1st part of the investigation but in case you missed it or you forgot to bookmark it, you can find part one at this link:

Now I know since you read part one you are all making the website a part of your everyday Amaretto experience…right!  Let’s all make sure we are on the same page so be sure that you are using this link for the Amaretto Social Network a.k.a. the Amaretto Website:

The first thing I want to point out is directly below the box we talked about in part one.  Here you can simply touch one of the pictures and it will immediately take you to the corresponding Amaretto page.  You can hover over them and they will tell you which link they go to. For instance you hover the “f” and it lets you know it will take you to the Amaretto Facebook page, and if you hover over the “t” it shows you that you will be taken to the Amaretto Twitter page. You get the idea!  So be sure to click these links and head over and check those pages out!

Right below that box you will see “Recent Polls”.  This is where Josie will sometimes pose questions to the community to get your feedback on things.  As you can see in this poll she was curious as to what everyone’s favorite horse trait was.  If you were to click that question you would be taken to a page that show you a break down of all the answers!  Very cool!

Now the box underneath that one shows you which members are online on the Social Network page right now.  Sadly when I took this picture only myself and Josaphine were on the site.  I know now that I am taking you all on this in depth tour of the Social Network we will begin to see many more members online in this box!

Okay this next box is one of my favorites on the page!  The Visitors Globe is so cool!  It allows you to see that your Amaretto Community is global!!  If someone is online on the Social Network (meaning they are logged into the Amaretto Website) then a dot will appear on the globe and show the name of where they are in the world.  However, even if there is nobody online you can still look at the map and see all the dots from when people have visited the site.  It’s amazing!  Also if you click the words “Large Visitor Globe” it will show you all kinds of cool statistics, if you like that sort of thing you will be in heaven!

Let’s hop over to the right side of the page now.  There you will see “Announcements”.  This is where we will post major announcements in the Amaretto Community.  Josie makes sure when things are important you have many different places to look to stay informed!  When it comes to Amaretto you have no excuses for not knowing something, we make sure of it!!

Just below the announcements you will find a box of advertisements.  Did you know you could advertise your breedable market on the Amaretto website?  Well you can and it will show up right here for all to see!  Be sure you look at the ads when you’re on the page and see how many you recognize from Second Life!!

Today I had the pleasure of interviewing CRITTERQUEEN Resident! I asked several questions, and here are her awesome replies!

Q..When did you first start being an auctioneer?

A. CRITTERQUEEN Resident oh when ummm…. 4.5 years ago I guess.with Bee Tearfall @ Tearfall Auctions and Dallas with Dezi Sorbet

Q.What made you decide to be an auctioneer?

A. CRITTERQUEEN Resident I needed to find some way to make money in SL. I saw my first amaretto horse 3 months after I started SL in somebodies back yard. I went to a club and entered a contest and won an amaretto bundle! I didnt know what to do with it, and the DJ helped me find a small barn to rent and where to buy food and salt.

Q.When you first started auctioneering , what breedable were you auctioning for?

A.CRITTERQUEEN Resident: amaretto horses of course!

Q.What do you feel is the most difficult thing for you, being an Auctioneer?

A.CRITTERQUEEN Resident: Pronouncing those new names you came up with for the coats, eyes and wings OMG! And getting buyers to buy of course.

Q. What is your favorite type of auction to call?

A.CRITTERQUEEN Resident: Well I can call drop auctions for at least 3 hours straight if people rez them out on panels and we just keep going around in circles till we run out of stuff to sell. I really enjoy the ones where I can let people sell ANY kind of thing as long as its transferable. Different breedables, builds, clothing, furniture almost anything. Now that makes a fun auction and I get to learn how to call different breedables as well. Everyone learns.

Q. What do you feel makes a good auctioneer?

A.CRITTERQUEEN Resident: You have to know exactly what you are talking about. You CANNOT make up stuff about what can and can’t pass and where a certain trait or eye comes from. If you don’t know then don’t guess! You have to have a very clear and loud voice. Don’t smoke, cough, sneeze, or belch on mic because you can hurt other peoples ears and it sounds just plain gross. Know your market or any breedalbe your calling and always do you best to pretend that if the pet is yours you would do you best to try and get it sold.

Q. What is the funniest thing that has ever happen to you when calling an auction?

A. CRITTERQUEEN Resident: 1. losing my hair, or articles of clothing. 2. Crashing in the middle of an auction. 3. Having people snatch up their horses before you are even done calling them. 4. Everybody wearing an item that makes you dance when you say “on” in local. Then saying on when we get a sale and making everyone dance.

You can tell CRITTERQUEEN really enjoys being an auctioneer!
