BLANKETS!

Hello everyone hope you are enjoying your Saturday and your weekend is off to an amazing start!

Today I want to shine the spotlight on the Blanket trait for our horses!

On April 27, 2019 Amaretto released the 6.01 update! With this update came lots of new traits!

On Dec.13,2019 Amaretto released 2019 Holiday Editions, hiding in these was the Christmas Plaid blanket!

On February 14, 2020 Amaretto celebrated Valentines Day with a random drop Happy Valentines 2020 Blanket!

On May 5, 2020 Amaretto released the El Dorado Edition horses they were hiding the El Dorado Blanket!

On Nov.18,2020 Amaretto released the 2020 Camelot Editions horses they were hiding the Camelot and Royalty Blankets!

The Blankets are one set of many exciting possible Non-Starter traits that can come from breeding “Starter Coats”.

You can have a chance at one of these exciting Non-Starter Blankets by breeding any horse with a starter horse or by breeding together two starter horses.

The Blanket trait can NOT be combined with a saddle however the Blanket trait DOES have the ability to pass!

So which one is your favorite?  If you are like me I can’t pick just one I love them all!

Until next time this is Snookie hoping you have had a great weekend and an even better week ahead!

HAPPY BREEDING!

Amaretto Grulla Horses

Grilla…grullah….how do you say that again? The word “grullo” originates from the Spanish word for a gray horse and the word “grulla” in Spanish means crane. Because of the origin of the name, some people will refer to a mare as a grulla and a stallion or gelding as a grullo, pronounced GREW-yə and GREW-yoh.
Okay, what IS a Grulla horse? Basically, it’s a dun horse. A grulla has a dark stripe down it’s spine, shoulder stripes and leg barring. A grulla horse is fairly rare, as these things go, and is often the result of mating a black stallion with a red or dun mare.

In these pictures you can see the back striping and a hint of the leg stripes that some have. The colors of these two coats kind of look like the models for Amaretto’s Chrome and Tan Grulla coats.

When the version 5.5 Horse update came out on October 7, 2016 these exciting new coats were hidden in new starters. The Grulla horse is one set of many exciting possible Non-Starter coats that can come from breeding “Starter Horses”.

You can have a chance at one of these exciting Non-Starter Grulla by breeding any horse with a starter horse or by breeding together two starter horses. The Grulla coat CAN be passed on

PEACH BUZZ ~CREATE YOUR OWN BARNYARD BIRDS~

One might ask themselves what is a Create your own Barnyard Bird and how can we get one? Well, dear breeder’s in order to get one you must go to an event hosted by Amaretto where they auction off the chance to create your own bird: Coat, eye, beak, leg, and wing.

These events are very popular amongst the breeders! Excitement has bird breeders scratching their heads wondering how much to place a bid on the trait they want. It’s a designer dream! With endless possibilities and creativity to style their winning trait with their own personal flair. The Winner then submit their ideas to the Amaretto design team and voila! Beautiful works of art arrive to the winners.

Here is a list of the breeders who have won in the past!

May 2015: Early Bird gets the Worm Eye ~ Billy Qendra

June 2015: Crow at the Sun Eye ~ SnookieAnne Heartsong

Looking at the past user creator gallery one wonders about the newest traits the birds have come out with? How about designing your own Wacky Waddle or Batty Bosum how cool would that be! I think we would all agree that Amaretto did another hit by allowing the breeders to have their hand in the design process. If you love the user-created auctions and want to see more of this? All you have to do is drop a notecard in the Mailbox at the main store asking for MORE MORE MORE create your own!

This concludes Peach Buzz that informs you of the hottest trends in Amaretto.

Enchanted K-9s

Enchanted K-9s are very special K-9s that can be born at random from ANY K-9 breeding combination.

Enchanted K-9s are NOT able to pass their coats, eyes or collars. However, you could get extremely lucky and birth another Enchanted K-9.

When you breed an Enchanted K-9 (whether it is with another Enchanted K-9 or any other K-9) you DO have an increased chance at receiving another random Enchanted K-9.

The non-Enchanted offspring of Enchanted K-9s do NOT have an increased chance of producing Enchanted K-9s.

Dental Appreciation Day!

Today we celebrate the least appreciated profession (and maybe one of the most feared) but they are the ones that keep us smiling.

Amaretto agreed and when they did the appreciation eyes in 2014, they did release a Dental Appreciation Eye which dropped randomly from January 1 – January 31, 2015.

These great eyes do pass, so why not get out there and find some Appreciation eyes today including the Dental Appreciation eye. You can see all the appreciation eyes by going here.

Best In Show

The Westminster Kennel Club has dog shows every year, where the best of the best in dog breeds are brought to strut their stuff, and represent their breeds to the country. Each breed competes in their own category, a winner is chosen, then those winners compete against each other hoping to be chosen Best in Show. It’s a fascinating look at just how many diverse breeds there are from countries all around the world, from the littlest Chihuahuas or Pomeranians to the largest Mastiffs or Great Danes. From pampered lap dogs to athletic working dogs, they all have a chance at the coveted trophy and blue ribbon. Last years winner was Wasabi the Pekingese, who won it all at the 2021 Westminster Dog Show at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown, N.Y

Beginning June 5, 2012, Amaretto added the Best in Show K-9s to their line-up of dogs. Any kennel dropped from the breeding of any 2 Schnauzer K-9s had the chance at being a Best in Show Schnauzer. From that date til november of 2013 we’ve had 17 Best in Show dogs. The Best in Show coat Could NOT pass, but the eyes and collars COULD.

Happy Breeding ARF!

PEACH BUZZ ~A Spring Fable~

Once upon a time, there were two wood sprites named Snookie and Maggie. Snookie was short and tended to all the flowers and grasses on the woodland floor. Maggie was tall and tended to all the leaves of the trees. One day while doing their daily walk through the forest checking on the flowers and trees they spied two butterflies. The two sprites squealed with delight! As everyone knows that butterflies have very magical powers. When captured the butterflies would bestow gifts to their captures so they could be set free.
Forgetting their duties the sprites chased after the beautiful butterflies. Deeper and deeper into the forest they chased the butterflies but, the butterflies flew so fast. Losing sight of the butterflies because she was so short Snookie called out to Maggie “Do you still see the butterflies?” Maggie looked around and pointed “Yes they flew over there…I think.” Maggie gulped as she looked at the directions the butterflies were flying. Maggie grabbed Snookie’s hand and whispered “Stop Snookie. The Butterflies flew into the dark part of the forest.” Snookie although short was the bravest of all the sprites in their woodland village. She looked up at Maggie and pulled her hand to move forward. “It’s just a little dark. Think of the gifts we could get if we capture them.” Not wanting to appear cowardly Maggie bolstered her courage and followed Snookie into the dark part of the forest.

The two sprites took out their glow crystals to light their way as they moved quietly and cautiously into the dark forest. . CRINNCH….CRUNCH was the sound of their tiny slippered feet on the forest floor. The air was stagnant, ripe with the smell of old rotting leaves. Low lying branches scratched at their arms and legs. A lone owl gave a hoot of alarm. The two sprites gave a yelp at the lonely haunting sound and ran deeper into the heart of the dark forest.

Maggie let out a wee shout of delight and pointed to the sight of a firefly. Snookie called out “oh there is one” as she spied another firefly. Suddenly without warning the two sprites were surrounded by fireflies. They smiled and giggled to see such a wonderful sight. The fireflies seemed to be guiding them to someplace magical. Just over a ridge and down through a tunnel of trees sprinkled with glowing fairy grass stood a pair of butterflies. Their wings looked huge to the two sprites hiding in the glowing fairy grass.

Snookie placed her hand over Maggie’s mouth and placed a finger over her lips “shhhh” Maggie with round eyes nodded her head. Snookie was thinking of a plan to capture these HUGE butterflies. She took out her little wand and began to rez out items she thought they would need. She began to mutter to herself “A net made out of sticky spider webs, a few fresh dewdrops for bait, some marsh mellow fluff……..” One of the butterflies wings started to flit and then a wondrous surprise shocked the two sprites. Why they were not just butterflies……they were the infamous butterfly winged horses known for bringing in the Spring!

Until now only tales from the wise ones in their woodland village spoke of these fabled beasts. Snookie and Maggie looked at each other in shock. A melodious sound reached their ears. A beautiful fae-like voice spoke to them “Do not be afraid little sprites. Our names are Josie and Ava. We are the Goddesses that bring in the spring and we need your help.” Snookie and Maggie clasped each other’s hands and moved out of their hiding place. The beautiful fae-like horses shook their glorious manes with approval of the sprite’s bravery. Magically four velvet sacks appeared at the sprite’s feet. “Take these sacks back to your village and give them to your elders. They will know what to do with them.” Said Josie. “But do not peek inside for the magic will disappear.” Warned Ava. Snookie puffed her chest just a wee bit “You can count on us.” She boldly replied.

Maggie and Snookie picked up the velvet sacks and watched the butterfly winged horses fly up and the air and then magically they disappeared. They quickly began to make their way back home. “I wonder what is in these sacks?” Asked Snookie aloud. Maggie looked down at her friend “I don’t know but remember what they said Snookie, we cannot look.” Snookie gave a little huff as she kicked a small pebble in the path. Snookie rolled her eyes at her friend thinking that Maggie was such a goodie two shoes. Maggie smiled at her friend’s impatience. “Look Snookie we are almost home” Called out Maggie. Snookie giggled with glee. To think they were given such a great honor to bring these magical sacks to their elders.

Finally, the two wee sprites entered their small woodland village. They called out to their fellow sprites “quick my friends come and see what we have!” The woodland village sprites quickly followed Snookie and Maggie to the town square. The Elders were waiting for them. Spying the four magical velvet sacks proclaimed in a loud voice “SPRING HAS ARRIVED!” Snookie and Maggie placed the four sacks at the Elder’s feet. The Elders smiled at them and began to wave their wee sprite wands chanting “with these sacks we do proclaim that spring has arrived!” The sacks magically dissipated to reveal four bridals. The Village of the Sprites gasped in awe and wonder at the four gorgeous bridles colored orange, purple, rainbow, and Candy Cane.

Maggie and Snookie looked at the gorgeous bridles but were much confused. How did bridles usher in the spring? They Scratched their wee heads in wonder. The Elders still waving their wands called forth four bumblebees. The bee’s majestic greeted the sprite elders. Each elder took one of the bridles and placed them on the bumblebees. Snookie and Maggie smiled at each other now understanding. The bees would pollinate the flowers for the spring wearing these magical bridles. The Bee’s looked at Maggie and Snookie “thank you for bringing us the magic to usher in the spring. We could not have done this without your bravery.” The woodland sprites let out a cheer “Huzzah for Maggie and Snookie!!” Snookie and Maggie blushed and giggled at the attention. This would surely be the best spring ever!

Dear Breeders, that concludes the Spring Fable of the Butterfly wings. Just like all fables, there is some truth to it. So let’s look at the facts:
In 2014 Amaretto released two LEs known as Spring Spirit named New Leaves and Budding Flowers. Breeders were delighted with those butterfly wings!! Although much to our dismay the wings and coats did not pass those gorgeous eyes did! You did not have to breed them together to get their hidden surprises. They gave us four new bridles! Rainbow Bridle, Purple Bridle, Candy Cane Bridle, and the Orange Bridle.

I hoped you enjoyed this little Spring Fable and always dear breeders stay tuned for more PEACH BUZZ connections!
