Hi everyone!  We received a letter from the facility that Richie, Tm & maleficent visited in New York to present the Autism Awareness Check too with a very heart warming story and I just had to share it with you the community!  It made all of us staff feel very good knowing that YOU, the Amaretto Community made such a big impact on the lives of so many children!  Grab the tissues and read the email below…

Hello Amaretto Community,
I just wanted to say hi and that I am thinking about what you and your friends at Amaretto Ranch Breedables have done to help so many STAT families!
I just recently sent out our 708th voucher! (and we haven’t even hit the Summer session yet…) I think this is when you say “Whoa!” 🙂
Thank you again and again!
Here’s a story about Johnny. He rides at Country Meadows Equine Park in Walton.
Johnny is 9 and has Autism. He is non verbal. Doctors have told his Mom that he will never speak and that she should just start teaching him American Sign Language.
Johnny has severe behavior issues – if you can imagine having no voice and just having to throw tantrums to get anyone’s attention…
Johnny rides every week and behaves very well when on the horse. so after every riding session, Laura, the riding instructor, gives Johnny an ice cream sandwich as a nice treat (and Johnny loves ice cream)
After several weeks of riding, two weeks ago, Johnny dismounts his horse, looks at Laura, and says to Laura “ice cream sandwich!”
……..and that’s all I have to say about that!
last week he says “Hi Mom!”,  “Go!” and his horse’s name (whose name I forgot…. 🙁  —— so much for Johnny never speaking huh
I figured that would make your day. It made my month!
I would like to forward you some thank you letters from parents, would you like that?
Forever in your debt,
Cat
