This week I have seen a lot of tickets where mares and k-9’s have been in recovery, yet they have not dropped their bundle or kennel.

This can happen because of interference with Second Life, Amaretto servers , lag, and other disturbances. When the mare/ k-9 goes to drop her bundle/kennel she will go into recovery but the bundle/kennel will not automatically drop.

The mare will try to contact the server again and if all the conditions are favorable the bundle will then drop. Depending on the issues stated this may take some time so just be patient. If it does not drop a bundle/kennel, please file a ticket and include mothers UUID.

When you file a ticket for a bundle fix, always include mothers UUID, as most of the time we will need that information.

First I should start out by saying the owners and staff at Amaretto Breedables aren’t able to advise people on the pricing of K9s/Horses etc…

HOWEVER… Some suggestions to pricing your awesome breedables…

1) Check around markets… Find some breedables that are similar to yours and see what they’re selling for.

2) Check the Amaretto Forums for items for sale at http://amarettobreedables.com/forums

3) Ask your fellow breeders in the ~Amaretto Ranch~ Breedables group

4) Check out items listed on myslk9s.com or myslhorses.com – Both sites offer a market for sale area and you can visit some really interesting places along the way…

These are just some suggestions on how to price your breedable. Happy Breeding!!

This stat booster gives a 1% increase in happiness over time. One Amaretto Brand Chew Toy last 2 K-9’s 2 weeks.

1.Open boxed Amaretto Brand Chew Toy and rez close to the K-9’s you wish to increase the happiness. For the K-9’s to use the Amaretto Brand Chew Toy it needs to be within their set range, just as the food and water is.
2.Click the Amaretto Brand Chew Toy to set options for Owner only, Group only, or All.
Owner only: Will only be consumed by the owners K-9’s.
Group only: Will only be consumed by K-9’s in the same group as the Amaretto Brand Chew Toy is set to.
All: Any K-9 within range of the Amaretto Brand Chew Toy will be able to consume it.
Once the Amaretto Brand Chew Toy has been completely consumed it will disappear.

Q: What does the Amaretto Brand Chew Toy help with and should it only be needed after the K-9’s are old enough to breed?

A: The Amaretto Brand Chew Toy helps to increase the happiness of the K-9. It only needs to be used when you are trying to increase the Heat of the K-9 for breeding and do not have the time to use the Hud to increase their happiness.

Q: How long does the Amaretto Brand Chew Toy last? Does it help to have more than 1 out?

A: The Amaretto Brand Chew Toy will last as long as the food. We do NOT recommend having out more than one Amaretto Brand Chew Toy the boosts will not stack.

WHY NAMING YOUR BREEDABLE IS IMPORTANT

Second Life has many lag issues, that can cause duplication of breedables, disappearance of breedables, or incomplete transfer of breedables. Having your breedable named can be very helpful especially when SL eats you Horse or K-9. We need information to remake your breedable. What we need is the Name of breedable and/or UUID number. If you leave you horse or K-9 as Amaretto Breedable Horse or Amaretto Breedable K-9 it can make it harder to find and sometimes impossible. The same goes for kennels and bundles.

We can only replace, remake your item if we have the information, so please take the time to name all your breedables.

Names can be as simple as using a number. It will also help you keep track and know when you are missing a horse or K-9.

When you get a bundle or kennel and you decide not to birth it, name it before you take it into your inventory. Lets say a few weeks down the road you decide to birth that bundle, and the horse stays white and doesn’t birth. You probably dont remember who the parents of the bundle were, but if you have named the bundle and paid attention to the bundle name before you clicked birth, you now have some information to give us that can help in finding out about that bundle.

Have fun with naming and may all your bundles and kennels be great ones!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying there long weekend by now. I know i will be soon 🙂

I wanted to talk to you about a few things ive been seeing happening out in world when I have to go on a house calls.
A few people have been filing tickets, about k9’s not eating.

Well upon further examination every time I visited someones sim because their k9 wasn’t eating

I found it was because the food they had out was set to group only and was a completely different group than the ones the k9 were set to.
So please make sure that you food is set to owner only or all, if you are going to use the group setting option please ensure that your k9s and food are all set to the same group.

Also another thing i wanted to mention is skating horses or deformed horses while sleeping. Not everyone is experiencing this issue but i know some that are.
Linden labs has been rolling out changes to their servers sometimes to the physics engine ou can read about all the changes being made here http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Server/11#11.08.22.239223

We are looking for a fix for these issues and hope to get them to you guys asap but for now we will just have to work around these hard ships!!

K9 Hud Talkin

Before we get started…

I just want to say that my journey with breedables over the last near year has been an amazing one. As much as I would love to claim all the credit for my knowledge and success…The truth of the matter is that without you and the amazing teachers I’ve had along the way that I wouldn’t be here… Dazza Staheli, Ember Camel and Laya Felisimo are just some of the awesome people who were willing to share their knowledge, wisdom and words of encouragement with me. If ever you get a chance to talk to these people… LISTEN… They know what they are talking about! 🙂 I can say without a doubt that if it wasn’t for them… I would not be where I am today!

Lastly… I want to thank the Amaretto Family for giving me this opportunity to be apart of the family. Their confidence and trust in my abilities means a great deal to me and this is an incredible opportunity. I will do my very best to not let them down and to serve the Amaretto community to the very best of my abilities. Including sending rounds of Starbucks to the Amaretto Ranch Breedables Group. (in some cases Dunkin Doughnuts)

I thought for my first posting that I’d go all out and talk about the K9 Hud… Been seeing lots of questions about them in group, IM and so on. So… Here we go!

*whispers* “Using the Hud is pretty simple stuff!”

Couple things to remember…

1) Your hud is transfer friendly. If you know anyone looking for a K9 Hud…then…Feel free to pass it along.

2) Your hud will ONLY work with K9s that you own. So no your friends can’t play fetch with your K9s.

How the K9 Hud works…

1st) You need to find the hud in your inventory, right click it and select wear from the pie menu. It will attach to the center of your screen and you can always move it to any place you would like on your screen.

2nd) Find that puppy you want to interact with and click on him/her. Select HUD from the blue menu.

3rd) Look on your hud for the “Connect” button – Once you’ve clicked on that it will confirm that you are in fact connected to your puppy.

Now this is where the fun starts… You can now select what to do with your puppy from things such as follow you around the house, play fetch, come and stay…

Let’s Talk About K-9’s Food

Your K-9’s will eat once every hour. If food is not present their hunger and thirst will rise until it reaches 100% at which time they will get sick, this will take 3 days. A Vaccination can be used to Heal your K-9 or they will eat their way out of sickness in approximately 3 days.

Breeder Food is for K-9’s you wish to breed once they reach 7 days old.
Pet Food is to be used when you do not wish to breed your K-9’s. If you decide to breed your K-9 after feeding it Pet Food, it will take 7 days on Breeder Food for the effects of the Pet Food to wear off.
1.Rez the food/water within your K-9’s set range. (a K-9’s default range is 5 meters)
2.Can click the food/water to change options and see remaining %. Options include Owner only, Group only, and All.
Owner only: Will only be consumed by the owners K-9’s.
Group only: Will only be consumed by K-9’s in the same group as the food/water is set to.
All: Any K-9 within range of the food/water will be able to consume it.
Once the food/water has been completely consumed it will disappear.

If you are having issues with your K-9 not eating please try the following tricks before filing a ticket.
1. Re-rez fixes 99% of the issues.
2. If the land is set to a group, are the K-9’s and food set to that group?
3. If the land isn’t set to a group, are the K-9 and food set to the same group as each other?
4. Check to see if the K-9 is set to the type of food out (more stats)
5. Re-set home position.
6. Sometimes giving them a K-9 Treat will help them start to eat so you may also want to try this. Remember your K-9’s only eat once every 43 minutes so you may not notice a change immediately, be patient it takes 3 days for a K-9 to reach 100% hunger.

****REMEMBER TO RESET HOME POSITION IF YOU EDIT MOVE YOUR K-9
****IT IS BEST TO RE-REZ YOUR K-9 NEXT TO THE FOOD INSTEAD OF EDITING IT OVER***
