Category : Horse Information

Happy Thursday Everyone! I have seen quite a few people file tickets about duplicate horses/K9s. I would like to let everyone know why this happens and what you should do when it does!

This happens when there are two copies of a horse or K9 in world, this can happen due to lag, sim restarts, sim rollbacks, crashes, and even updating.

So your horse or K9 is duplicated what do I do now??

First file a ticket, be sure to include as much information as possible. The uuid of the horse or K9 is the best piece is information you could provide, so whenever possible please be sure to put it inside the ticket. Also, if you recently bought the horse or K9 please provide the full transaction record with date, time, region etc., for your purchase? This can be found on your dashboard on the Secondlife.com website under transaction history.

When the CSR looks up the horse/K9 on the server if you do not show as owner of the horse or K9 we can’t return it to you! This is for all of our customer’s protection we don’t want anyone to just give us a uuid and say the horse or K9 is theirs when it’s really not!

Once you have filed a ticket, you will be asked to send in all copies of the duplicated horse/K9. When sending folders to the csr, make sure your name and ticket id is on the folder! Don’t send replies to tickets in IM or notecards, reply to your ticket in your ticket!
If you do the things I have talked about here your ticket will be answered quickly and it will be a smooth process for you and Amaretto CSR!!

Until Next Time….

Happiness is KEY to Fervor/Heat

I have listened in group chat and have seen some tickets lately that have been about fervor not rising. Your horses/K-9’s fervor will only rise if your horse/k-9 is awake and above 75% happiness. Now there are many ways to increase the happiness of your breedable.

Lets start with Horses: Riding is one of the ways you can increase the happiness just ride your horse some if he or she seems to be unhappy and not gaining happiness ( they have to be age 7 though before you can ride them).

Another way you can raise the happiness is with salt licks, rezzing out a salt lick with your food will make your horses happier. This stat booster gives a 1% increase in happiness over time. One Salt Lick last 2 horses 2 weeks.

Also you have two other consumables at your disposal to help raise the happiness level some.

The first consumable, sugar cubes, when used give your horse a 15% increase to the happiness though you can only give this consumable to them once in a 24 hour period.

The second consumable that effects happiness also effects all the other stats of the horse and that’s the Amaretto Cocktail! This wonderful little concoction is just what your horse wants to feel happy and ready to start producing bundles by raising energy, happiness, and fervor by 5% and decreasing hunger and thirst by 5% ensuring that your horse can stay up late with his favorite mare! Note that again this consumable can only be given once every 24 hours.

Lets talk K-9’s. You can increase the happiness of you K-9 by using your hud and playing with your K-9. Always remember that your K-9 will not start to gain fervor until they are 7.

Another way you can raise the happiness is with a Chew Toy, rezzing out a chew toy with your food will make your K-9’s happier. This stat booster gives a 1% increase in happiness over time. One Amaretto Brand Chew Toy last 2 K-9’s 2 weeks.

Also you have two other consumables at your disposal to help raise the happiness level of your K-9 some.

The first consumable, Rawhide Lollipop, when used gives your K-9 a 15% increase to the happiness though you can only give this consumable to them once in a 24 hour period.

The second consumable that effects happiness also effects all the other stats of the K-9 and that’s the Mega Woof Vitamins! This wonderful little concoction is just what your K-9 wants to feel happy and ready to start producing kennels by raising energy, happiness, and fervor by 5% and decreasing hunger and thirst by 5% ensuring that your K-9 can stay up late with his favorite gal! Note that again this consumable can only be given once every 24 hours.

Happiness does naturally go down while the horse/K-9 is sleeping but will come back up while its awake. Sometimes for whatever reason you may have a stubborn horse/K-9 that doesn’t want to get happy or its fervor go up once its happy ( fervor can only rise once its age 7 ) if this happens just submit a ticket and send that horse/K-9 on in so we can give it a checkup ( re-rezzing sometimes also fixes this ).

I hope this has helped you with why your horses/K-9’s don’t seem to be increasing in fervor at times.

Bundles and Kennels

This week I have seen a lot of tickets where mares and k-9’s have been in recovery, yet they have not dropped their bundle or kennel.

This can happen because of interference with Second Life, Amaretto servers , lag, and other disturbances. When the mare/ k-9 goes to drop her bundle/kennel she will go into recovery but the bundle/kennel will not automatically drop.

The mare will try to contact the server again and if all the conditions are favorable the bundle will then drop. Depending on the issues stated this may take some time so just be patient. If it does not drop a bundle/kennel, please file a ticket and include mothers UUID.

When you file a ticket for a bundle fix, always include mothers UUID, as most of the time we will need that information.

Second Life has many lag issues, that can cause duplication of breedables, disappearance of breedables, or incomplete transfer of breedables. Having your breedable named can be very helpful especially when SL eats you Horse or K-9. We need information to remake your breedable. What we need is the Name of breedable and/or UUID number. If you leave you horse or K-9 as Amaretto Breedable Horse or Amaretto Breedable K-9 it can make it harder to find and sometimes impossible. The same goes for kennels and bundles.

We can only replace, remake your item if we have the information, so please take the time to name all your breedables.

Names can be as simple as using a number. It will also help you keep track and know when you are missing a horse or K-9.

When you get a bundle or kennel and you decide not to birth it, name it before you take it into your inventory. Lets say a few weeks down the road you decide to birth that bundle, and the horse stays white and doesn’t birth. You probably dont remember who the parents of the bundle were, but if you have named the bundle and paid attention to the bundle name before you clicked birth, you now have some information to give us that can help in finding out about that bundle.

Have fun with naming and may all your bundles and kennels be great ones!

A few issues k9’s and horses!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying there long weekend by now. I know i will be soon 🙂

I wanted to talk to you about a few things ive been seeing happening out in world when I have to go on a house calls.
A few people have been filing tickets, about k9’s not eating.

Well upon further examination every time I visited someones sim because their k9 wasn’t eating

I found it was because the food they had out was set to group only and was a completely different group than the ones the k9 were set to.
So please make sure that you food is set to owner only or all, if you are going to use the group setting option please ensure that your k9s and food are all set to the same group.

Also another thing i wanted to mention is skating horses or deformed horses while sleeping. Not everyone is experiencing this issue but i know some that are.
Linden labs has been rolling out changes to their servers sometimes to the physics engine ou can read about all the changes being made here http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Server/11#11.08.22.239223

We are looking for a fix for these issues and hope to get them to you guys asap but for now we will just have to work around these hard ships!!

Well until next time happy breeding everyone!

Dakota Goes Out To Pasture

I watched the group discussion about “retired” coats this
morning and decided to try to clear up some
confusion about when Amaretto puts things
Out to Pasture (our version of retiring coats/eyes/traits).

Let’s start by listing what is Out to Pasture:

Out to Pasture Starter Coats
 Appaloosa Black
 Appaloosa Brown
 Appalossa Tan
 Appaloosa Grey

Out to Pasture Non-Starter Coats
 Black Walker
 Brown Walker
 Red Walker
 Silver Walker
 Tan Walker
 White Walker

Out to Pasture Charmed Horses
 Charmed Demon – Demon Eyes (Blood)
 Charmed Pegacorn - Pegacorn Eyes (Rainbow)

Out to Pasture Albino Eyes
 Hazel Blue
 Hazel Pink
 Multi Green Blue
 Multi Brown Blue
 Rainbow

Now what does this mean exactly?

**On the Starter Coat that has been put Out to Pasture, it means you will
never buy a Starter/Breeder/Ranchers pack of horses from the Amaretto
stores that contains this coat.  The only way of obtaining an Appaloosa
is if a horse you are breeding has the Appaloosa trait somewhere in
its lineage.

**On the Non-Starter Coat that has been put Out to Pasture, it means you
will never buy a Starter/Breeder/Ranchers pack of horses from the Amaretto
stores that contains the Walkers as a hidden coat.  The only way of obtaining
a Walker is if a horse you are breeding has the Walker trait somewhere in its
lineage.

**Now the Out to Pasture Charmed are a little different.  Since Charmed
horses are random and do not pass on their coats when we put Charmed horses
Out to Pasture it means there will never be another one of those Charmed
dropped on the grid.  So there is no chance of getting the Charmed Demon
or the Charmed Pegacorn any longer because they are Out to Pasture.

**The Albino eyes originally come from Albino horses but can pass on to other
horses.  So when Albino eyes are put Out to Pasture it means that when an
Albino is birthed on the grid it will never have any of the Out to Pasture
eyes. The only way of obtaining these eyes is if a horse you are breeding
has them somewhere in its lineage.

**You should also note that when things are put Out to Pasture it does not
automatically make them a trait.
If it wasn’t considered a trait to begin with, well it is still not
considered a trait.
The easy way to remember this is ….Once a starter ALWAYS a starter.

I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion about things that are
now Out to Pasture.
Happy Breeding everyone!!

There has been a lot of chatter lately about something that Amaretto addressed a long time ago, but I feel the need to revisit the topic again to clear up any rumors that are floating about.  Many people have been talking about the fact that some of the RFL horses are missing the Horse9 sculpt.  We have said from the start that this does not affect anything with the horses ability to produce Charmed.  The RFLs have parented Charmed and do have the ability to produced Charmed horses just like any other horse.  These horses are missing a sculpt but not the ability to produce certain horses.  I would hope this will ease any concerns and put all rumors “out to pasture”.  I would also like to remind everyone that taking the horses apart and removing scripts and sculpts from inside the horses is against the Amaretto Terms of Use and will not be tolerated.  So let’s all enjoy our horses in one piece and stay far away from that awful rumor mill!

Horseshoes!!

Hey everyone well its a new week here at Amaretto! It came to my attention yesterday after watching the group I thought I should revisit the horse shoe that is inside the horse.

The horseshoe is there for one reason it is to preload the animations that all amaretto horses have. Every horse has the same horseshoe, one is not any better than another, there is no secret or special meaning behind the horseshoe.

If you have a horseshoe over your horses head all you need to change your horses setting to physical, it will disappear.

Color is also another myth sometimes the horseshoe may be rainbow color looking other times it may be Grey but don’t worry any color horseshoe does the same thing.

I heard a lot of rumors yesterday and just wanted to put all of them to rest. The horse shoe has nothing to do with breeding, connecting to the server, or version of your horse.

I have included a picture so you know what i am talking about 🙂

Well until next Monday, happy breeding everyone!!

Fervor and Happiness

I have seen some tickets lately that have been about fervor not rising. Your horses fervor will only rise if your horse is awake and above 75% happiness. Now there are many ways to increase the happiness of your horse, for starters riding is one of the ways you can increase the happiness just ride your horse some if he or she seems to be unhappy and not gaining happiness ( they have to be age 7 though before you can ride them). Also you have several consumables at your disposal to help raise the happiness level some. Sugar cubes when used give your horse a 15% increase to the happiness ( they really like sugar but who dosent ) though you can only give this consumable to them once in a 24 hour period. The second consumable you can give them directly increases the fervor of the horse by 10% and that’s the passion pills again only one every 24 hours can be given. The third consumable that effects happiness also effects all the other stats of the horse and that’s the Amaretto Cocktail! This wonderful little concoction is just what your horse wants to feel happy and ready to start producing bundles by raising energy, happiness, and fervor by 5% and decreasing hunger and thirst by 5% ensuring that your horse can stay up late with his favorite mare! I hope this has helped you with why your horses don’t seem to be increasing in fervor at times.

Well its Monday again and I know Ive missed a few blogs lately but ill try to do better! (ill be grounded if I don’t )

So whats new at Amaretto? Well we are all working diligently on the new K-9’s. We know you guys want them so we are working round the clock!

Did you know there is a new charmed? Well most know by now the last update there were some charmed horses that were retired, the Demon Horse along with the Pegacorn. Which made some people sad 🙁

But its a new day with a new charmed horse!!! Introducing for the first time officially the Charmed Zebra horse!!! As well as the Charmed Charmed Flutter Love Shetland. I have included pictures of all of them!

Remember any horse can give birth to a charmed horse, even those charmed that are retired. For further clarification please read http://amarettobreedables.com/connection/?p=509
