Amaretto Breedables Customer Connection

We wanted to let people know a few things about Amaretto bundles. With the new 2.21 update there have been some changes made to try and prevent Bad Bundles.  One of those changes is that  if there is any interference (with Second Life , the Amaretto Server, lag etc.) when the mare goes to drop her bundle she will go into recovery but the bundle will not automatically drop.  The mare will try to contact the server again and if all the conditions are favorable the bundle will then drop.  Depending on the issues stated this may take some time so just be patient.  As stated in the update notecard horses will no longer birth more then one viable bundle within a 3 day period.

Here is a break down of what your Bundles can say, and what it means

“NEVER_RECEIVED_MOTHER_COMMUNICATION”

Didn’t receive the message from the mother.  The mother will have a second bundle if this occurs, the current bundle is a dud.  Wait a few hours before filing a ticket with these, it might not be necessary.

“Connecting…”

Typically unseen, this is what happens when the horse receives a message from the mother in its description.”ATTEMPTING_RECONNECTION”

“DUPLICATED_UNBIRTHED”

Means that somehow two copies of the same bundle existed in world.  File a ticket and we can fix it.

“MOTHER_HAD_SECOND_BUNDLE_IN_THREE_DAYS”

If for any reason a mother horse already had a bundle in the past 3 days, this prevents it from occuring.  We log these issues server side with the parental information, if you can’t find the mother’s bundle, file a ticket and we can try to find it.

“ALREADY_BIRTHED”

We all know what this means LOL

We have heard many concerns over what will happen with any bundles that are not version 2.0  or later,after March 5th.  To clarify , we will provide support for issues related to bundles (birthing and rezzing), but we will not fix bad bundles, as that is a 1.3 issue, so you do NOT need to birth older bundles before this time, but they will need to be updated after birthing. We hope this clears things up for everyone.

Latest Happenings

We have been getting tickets on horses that can not be clicked on or even taken into  your inventory. Apparently this is another SL issue, please file a ticket and be aware that we will more than likely have to do a house call to fix them. Please state clearly in your ticket if you can not take them into your inventory. I call them Statue Horses LOL

Let’s talk about pregnancy and the horses.
First an foremost the horse has to be age 7 in order to start building fervor. In order to build fervor when the horse turns age 7 it has to have happiness of 75% or above. To get happiness to this level you can either ride your horses or place out salt licks for them.  The salt licks give a small boost to happiness over time where riding horses gives the instant boost. Once your horse has reached 100% fervor you can put it within range of another horse that is 100% fervor and as long as they are both awake pregnancy should occur fairly quickly. Some people like to use the pairing method in order to get horses pregnant and others just put certain horses within range of one another and let “nature” take its course.
Once the horse become pregnant it will take 3 days before the bundle drops.  No the last one percent does not last longer than any other percent it just seems that way because we are all excited to see the bundle drop.  Once the bundle drops from the mare be patient as depending on Second Life and other issues it may take some time for it to connect to the database. If the bundle does not drop right away  that does not mean it is not going to drop. Check to be sure you have enough prims to allow the bundle to drop and if you do then just be patient as it may take some time. You will see the mother has gone into recovery even if she has not dropped her bundle yet, this is normal and does not mean you will not receive the bundle, think of it as a difficult delivery but don’t give up the bundle will come.  Once the bundle drops and you see that it has connected you can move it out from under the mare and get ready to birth it.  DO NOT open the bundle you will break it!  All you need to do is click on the bundle and when the blue drop down menu appears on your screen choose the Birth option from that menu.  Congratulations you are now the proud owner of a brand new baby foal!
I have noticed there are a lot of people who are just getting into the horses and I would like to call on all of you experienced Breeders/Owners to welcome them into the Amaretto Community.  When you see a person asking questions in the Ranch group take a moment to remember what it was like when you got your first horse and all the questions you had then.  Hopefully a moment of reflection will inspire you to reach out and help and in doing so bring joy into another persons life.

Today I am going to take a moment to talk about traits and try to clear up some of the confusion about them.  I am going to cover each aspect of the horse to cover each trait.

~~Coat~~
Any coat that is not a starter coat is considered a trait. All non starter coats are considered ONE trait. The following coats are starter coats so anything other than these are 1 trait….
Appaloosa Black
Appaloosa Brown
Appalossa Tan
Appaloosa Grey
Brown Bay
Copper Bay
Golden Bay
Red Bay
Black Painted
Brown Painted
Red Painted
Silver Painted
Creme Palomino
Golden Palomino
Silver Palomino

~~Eyes~~

~~Tails~~
Any tail other than a normal tail is considered ONE trait.

~~Mane~~
Any mane other than a normal mane is considered ONE trait.

~~Luster~~
Luster is ONE trait for each part of the horse is affects. Luster can be on the coat and hair (mane and tail). So a total possible two traits can be reached with luster if it is on both coat and hair.

~~Gleam~~
Gleam is ONE trait for each part of the horse is affects. Gleam can be on the coat and hair (mane and tail). So a total possible two traits can be reached with gleam if it is on both coat and hair.

~~Gloom~~
Gloom is ONE trait for each part of the horse is affects. Gloom can be on the coat and hair (mane and tail). So a total possible two traits can be reached with gloom if it is on both coat and hair.

So in total a horse can have 10 traits.
Non starter coat= 1 trait possible
Non starter eye= 1 trait possible
Non starter tail= 1 traits possible
Non starter mane= 1 trait possible
Luster= 2 traits possible
Gleam= 2 traits possible
Gloom= 2 traits possible

Let’s use this following horse for example. This Horse is a 7 trait horse.

Coat: Black/White Mustang   <~~ 1 trait
Eye: Sapphire StarShine    <~~ 1 trait
Mane: Long    <~~ 1 trait
Tail: Normal
Coat Gleam Low    <~~ 1 trait
Coat Luster Low    <~~ 1 trait
Hair Gleam Low    <~~ 1 trait
Hair Luster Low    <~~ 1 trait

Happy Friday everyone!  We made it through another week, and another update.  YaY!! We have still had a few people saying they are having issues with the pairing so I am going to write my blog today on properly pairing your horses for the best breeding results. (Why do I feel like I’m about to explain the birds and the bees lol?!?!)

Take the 2 horses you want to pair and rez them side by side, make sure they are properly introduced to each other …Example:  Male HorseA we’d like you to meet your new partner Female HorseBCheck all their settings, reset their homes, make sure their breedable settings (Group, All, Owner) are set correctly for this particular breeding session. Always make sure the horses are the same version and that 1 is male and 1 is female *giggles* You don’t need to sorry about any other stats as the horses will pair even if they are not full fervor or quite happy enough yet.

Check their ranges make sure they are set correctly for the space they are from each other.

Now you can go to the menu and click breeding, then choose Pairing. I am going to pair Tex with Tina. So I touch Tex and on the drop down menu I choose Breeding, then Pairing and then select Form Pairing. Type the name of the horse you want to pair it with in local chat (make sure spelling is correct). You will then need to Confirm the pairing on the drop down menu. In local chat you will see the horse say Forming pairing with Tina. Now you can touch Tina and go to Breeding, Pairing and you will see at the top of the drop down it says This horse is paired with Tex.

There may be times when just like humans the horses can be a little stubborn.  If pairing does not appear to be working for you and you have done all the steps I have outlined above, simply break the pairing then re-rez the horses and start over, normally the horses will cooperate and everything should work just fine for you after this.
