Organization

As I sat here last night sorting bundles, kennels, nests and baskets, I realized how much work it is keeping everything organized in my inventory when I leave it too long undone. I see people all the time wondering how they will sort everything out when all they have is a mess of un-named drops. The first step is to never pick anything up unless it has been named. That might seem inpossible if you have hundreds of breedables, but taking a little at a time can be do-able. Start with the coat, maybe add the eye, one special trait, and the gender. Even those four things can help to organize enough for easier storing. They can also help if you lose something and need to find it, or file a ticket and have Amaretto find it.

If you haven’t already, make an Amaretto folder in your inventory to put them all in. Much better than having them somewhere in objects. I have to admit I have over 17,000 objects in my Amaretto folder. Can you imagine what a mess that would be if I left all that in objects? Don’t forget that when hatching or birthing, or even updating, they will go back to the objects folder and must be transferred again to the Amaretto folder. That makes them much easier to find in your inventory even if you don’t remember the name.

Once you have all those drops named and in the Amaretto folder, you can sort them to even more folders, like filing away things in a filing cabinet. If you breed all the Amaretto critters, make a folder for each type, then a folder for the drops. I’m a little bit OCD when it comes to my bundles and such. I make folders for each coat, special eyes, wings, saddles, racers, etc. It makes it so much easier to find what I’m looking for. I know some breeders like to put things in boxes or barrels, and if that works for you go ahead, but I like them where I dont have to rez them to see what’s what.

It may seem like a lot more work for those that have a lot of breedables, but in the long run it helps you and makes rezzing and re-rezzing a lot easier and less stressful. This method works for me, but it’s up to individual breeders to find what works for them. Happy Breeding

A Real-Life Passion

Is it possible for a passion acquired in a virtual world to become real? Here’s the testimony of my Brazilian friend, Lord Punisher, A passionate breeder that discovered through Amaretto Breedables his love for live horses.

My Story with Amaretto started when someone asked me: Lord, why don’t you breed Horses?
After a little bit of search here and there, I had my decision made, and I decided to dive into it.
It was months of searching and studying about Amaretto, how it works, and what I need to do; I had my Mentor: Malek Mistwood, whom I don’t see much today, but whatever he is doing now, I’ll always be incredibly grateful for all the time he spent to teach me about Amaretto, He was one of the best breeders and had an Amaretto Horses Museum.
After the first year, I had over five hundred horses breeding at Punisher’s Ranch, and after that, with no time, I had over 1500 Horses, and it was much more than a business for me; it has always been a pleasure, and a learning process.

So, I decided to share a secret that I had never told anyone.
When I had some knowledge about Amaretto Horses, I realized that was much more to it, I decided to start to search about the coats (Not the fantasy ones, of course), and I discovered a whole new world for me, a whole new thing to love in my life: HORSES, REAL LIFE HORSES.
Because of Amaretto, today, this guy behind Lord’s Avatar knows a lot about Horses, and that is because I met Amaretto in my SL.
I’ve created a Slogan for Punisher’s Ranch:

CARING, WHEN THE IDEA IS TO BUILD A DREAM
SO EVERYONE CAN ENJOY YOUR DREAM;
IT WILL NEVER BE ANYTHING LESS THAN IMPRESSIVE.

That is how Amaretto should feel about the world they created for us.

They gave us a world where anyone can be creative, where you can feel that you are part of a big family sharing the same interests and joy.
In the end, I’d like to thank Amaretto Breedables for giving me a purpose on Sl, to allow me to see a Horse in RL and know what coat it is. Life is about learning, and Amaretto has triggered my passion for RL Horses.

PEACH BUZZ ~TRENDING CONFECTIONS~

Yes Dear Readers, it is story time 🙂

Once upon a time there was a Baker, a Candy Maker, and a Ice Cream Maker. They all lived in a glorious kingdom named Amaretto. Now the Queen of Amaretto was a good and generous Queen. She was magical in all things being born a Fae. But, more then anything the Queen loved her horses. So much so that every year on her Birthday she held a contest for the best horse. The winner of the contest was granted a wish!

As you can imagine everyone in the Amaretto Kingdom was so excited to breed the best horse….that is everyone but the Baker, the Candy Maker, and The Ice Cream Maker. Although their shops were very popular with the citizens of Amaretto as each one of them created such wonderful mouth watering treats, they were in fact the worst at horse breeding.

One night the three gathered together sipping their tea and trying each other’s wares were gloomy indeed. Ana the Baker looked over at Sprinkles, the candy maker and then at Pea the ice cream maker and hit the table with her hand and declared “I want to win the best horse contest this year!” Pea and Sprinkles stopped with their spoons half way to their mouths to stare at Ana as if she had lost her ever loving mind. Sprinkles gave a chuckle “Ana, you make the most delectable cakes and pies but horse breeder you are not.” Pea nodded in agreement and patted her friends hand soothingly “indeed your pastry is light as air and no one can compare in our fair kingdom. Be happy and content knowing that.”

Ana, however, was not content. Not even a little bit. She wanted that wish! She wanted that wish more then anything. Sprinkles took a bite of the Strawberry shortcake and sighed a happy sigh “besides what could you possibly wish for? You have all that you need. What could you need more?” Pea giggled and rolled her eyes at her friend Sprinkles as she grabbed a light fluffy piece of cotton candy. Men! “Perhaps Ana would like a new gown with matching slippers, or a new oven, or or gosh I can think of a thousand things I could wish for!” Sprinkles humphed for his friends although silly women they never seemed content. He cleared his throat and stood up “well I for one am happy with my life and would not change it.”

Ana looked at Sprinkles and tilted her head “hmmm then if you are so happy then why have you no wife?” Sprinkles blushed and he sputtered “I have not met the right lass!” Ana sighed “but if you had a wish….” Sprinkles looked at Ana with interest “aye, go on.” Ana looked at Pea “are you not tired of being alone?” Pea nodded her head sadly. Ana crossed her arms and sighed again “aye, so am I. But, with the wish we could wish for a mate…..the perfect mate.” “Do you think the Queen is that powerful she could find us the perfect mate?” Asked Pea. Ana bit her lip in concentration and slowly replied “I think its worth a try.”

The next day the three friends met together to look over their stables. It was indeed pitiful. They each owned two horses each. They used their horses to pull their carts to the market. Each one was old, saw backed and shaggy. They looked at each other with despair. “These will never do!” Cried Ana. Pea blew out a breath of exasperation. Sprinkles choked back a laugh. In his mirth he joked “well you can always bake a horse.”

Ana and Pea locked eyes. Inspiration! They clapped their hands and hollered “YES!” Sprinkles eyes grew round “what? Wait? I was joking of course.” Ana smiled at her friend Sprinkles “now here is what we are going to do!” The three friends put their heads together and began to whisper.

Finally the big day arrived, the Queen’s Birthday! The three friends loaded their baked, sculpted and confect-ed “horses” in to Ana’s cart. They covered their goodies under a tarp and headed to the palace.

Along the way they saw many fine horses prancing and showing off their glorious manes and tails. The three friends held each other hands and gulped as the entered the palace grounds. They saw their assigned spots and maneuvered their cart by their spots. People were watching them, pointing and whispering about what they were doing there. There was even some laughter. How rude! Thought Pea.

The trumpeters announced the starting of the contest and all eyes were on the beautiful Queen. Ana whispered “now” and the three friends began to carefully place their horses on the stands.

Finally it was their turn. The Queen stopped and looked at their wares and gasped with surprise at the Hot Fudge Sundae, Devil’s Food Cake, Cotton Candy, Lemon Meringue Pie, Red Velvet Cake, and Strawberry Shortcake sculpted horses. The Queen smiled while everyone else laughed. The three friends blushed but stood proudly at their feats of beautiful confection horses.
Queen Josie smiled softly at the Baker, Candy Maker, and Ice Cream Maker. “These are indeed lovely!” She proclaimed. The crowd grew quiet. Ana and Pea smiled back at the Queen and gave her a curtsy while Sprinkles bowed and replied “thank you, Ma’am” Queen Josie study the exquisite confections “such innovation, such inspiration! However did you come up with this?” The three friends pointed at each other and laughed.

Queen Josie was so delighted that she took out her Fae wand and said some magical words and brought those beautiful confection horses to life. The crowed ooohed and aaahhed. They let out cheers for the Baker, the Candy Maker & the Ice Cream Maker!!! Hip Hip Hooray!!!!

Queen Josie announced that they were the winners for this years contest and were indeed granted their wish. The Queen threw a huge ball and invited all eligible bachelors and bachelorettes to attend. Needless to say that The Baker, The Candy Maker, And the Ice Cream Maker lived happily ever after.

As with every fairytale they are loosely based on facts. Here are some Amaretto facts about Confection Coats!

Amaretto celebrated our 4th Birthday on September 1, 2014 and to honor this occasion the Confection horses were revealed!
Hot Fudge Sundae, Devil’s Food Cake, Cotton Candy, Lemon Meringue Pie, Red Velvet Cake, and Strawberry Shortcake were the first set released.

On Amaretto’s 11th Birthday on Sept 1, 2021 brand new Confection coats were release!
Cinnamon Roll, Lollipop, Chocolate Eclair, Cookies N Cream, Cherry Pie, Caramel Swirl was the second set released!

The Confection Horses can be randomly birthed by breeding together any two horses that have Confection Eyes.
Confection Horses can NOT pass their coat.

However breeding a Confection Horse with another Confection Horse or with any other horse with Confection Eyes you will slightly increase your chance for another Confection Horse.

The Confection coat you receive will be chosen at random.

The Confection Eye that is on your specific Confection horse coat DOES have the ability to pass.

Always Popular and always trending so breed those confection eyes for some sweet treats! This is Peach Buzz reporting live from Amaretto.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Among the most agreeable of all small housedogs, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a strong, athletic, and lively little herder who is affectionate and companionable without being needy. They are one the world’s most popular herding breeds. At 10 to 12 inches at the shoulder and 27 to 30 pounds, a well-built male Pembroke presents a big dog in a small package. Short but powerful legs, muscular thighs, and a deep chest equip him for a hard day’s work. Built long and low, Pembrokes are surprisingly quick and agile. They can be red, sable, fawn, and black and tan, with or without white markings. The Pembroke is a bright, sensitive dog who enjoys play with his human family and responds well to training. As herders bred to move cattle, they are fearless and independent. They are vigilant watchdogs, with acute senses and a ‘big dog’Âť bark. Families who can meet their bold but kindly Pembroke’s need for activity and togetherness will never have a more loyal, loving pet.

K9s this month will be Corgi! April 1st until April 30th anytime you breed a Pembroke Welsh Corgi to an Pembroke Welsh Corgi you have the chance to get a very special surprise!

Busting Some Myths

Alright, as most of us know there can be some wild myths out there, which end up becoming urban legends after time and we have all fallen for one or two of them. One of the most fun classes that are taught at A.R.U. is the Myth Busters class. So let’s take a look at some myths and see if we can tear them apart.

Charmed Horses

One of the biggest myth does involve Charmed Horses (same would apply for Posh Ponies, Enchanted K-9s, or Exotic Birds) and their offspring.

First thing we should know about Charmed Horses is that they are completely random from any horse breeding regardless of how many generations they have been being breed, if they have Charmed parents, siblings or are offspring of Charmeds. Even starter horses and LE’s have a chance of giving you a Charmed as it truly is random and comes from any breeding.

You do have a slightly increased chance of getting a Charmed by actually breeding the Charmed horse itself but the offspring of either of these do not give you any better chance.

“Pure”

First let’s look at what the definition of “pure” is:

  • not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material.
  • without any extraneous and unnecessary elements.

What would a pure coat on a horse be? Well it would mean that both the showing and hidden coat on every horse in the line was exactly the same. Since we have no way of knowing that we cannot in all honesty call any horse coat “pure”. So even that 353rd generation white walker, might not be “pure” although you have a high probability of getting a white walker from it.

So can a horse coat be pure? That is the real question here. Yes, it can be “pure” but we would never know that, so we cannot truthfully call any horse coat “pure” as it would all be speculation and in effect tricking someone into thinking there is no change that any other coat will come out of that horse when in reality, there is always a chance of there being a hidden coat. So that 353rd generation white walker could end up giving you a Brown Pinto. Imagine your shock at that one!

Therefore, in our reality, there is no such thing as a “pure” horse.

Bundles/Kennels/Nests/Baskets

Now there are some strange rumors out there about how to get better coats/traits on your breedables. We’ll start by saying none of these work but here are some myths out there.

  • Time of day/day of the week – it doesn’t matter what time of day or what day of the week it is, when the offspring is dropped.
  • Breedable happiness level – yes the happiness of your breedable matters to bring up you stat which allows breeding to happen but happiness level when the offspring drops doesn’t affect the stats
  • Position of breedable – some rumors out there say having your breedable upside down will give you better offspring or facing north, but none of that works.
  • Large breeding/small breeding – it doesn’t matter how many breedables you have, every drop has the same chance as every other drop at special traits so it doesn’t matter if you are a large breeder or a small breeder.

Now there is a reason why none of this works, because all stats are randomly computer generated at the time the offspring drops based on what traits can be passed from this breeding. There is no person pulling any switches or deciding who gets what.

Linked Traits

Another big myth is that traits are linked together and can only breed together. This is NOT true at all. As far as we know there is only one set of traits that are always linked together but that is also one sided. The reins MUST have a bridle attached, but that makes sense. Let’s take a look at some reins:

You can see in the image that the reins have to attach to the bridle so if you get reins on your horse you will always get a bridle with it.

But wait, like we stated this is one sided, meaning that if you get a bridle you are not required to get reins with it as the bridle can pass independently of the reins. So just because you receive a bridle, it doesn’t mean reins will be attached, this is not a bug!

A good place to start to clear up myths are the wikis, they are a valuable resource and one that every breeder should have bookmarked for reference, they do answer all the basic questions out there:

Horse Wiki
K-9 Wiki
Barnyard Bird Wiki (Chickens)
Ponie Pal Wiki
Barnyard Bird Wiki (Ducks)

Also, if you hear something you think is strange you can always ask in any Amaretto Chat, other members, and moderators, as well as Amaretto Staff are there to help you out.

Those are some of the most common myths out there, although there are a lot more as well. Have fun with them but don’t take them seriously.

Have a great Sunday!!

Grey

P.S. Thanks to Sprinkles Monday for the use of his horses for the above image, I’m sure he loved me asking him to pull them all out and position them just right for me. 🙂

April Fools!

April Fool’s Day is an annual custom on 1 April consisting of practical jokes and hoaxes. Jokesters often expose their actions by shouting “April Fools!” at the recipient. Mass media can be involved in these pranks, which may be revealed as such the following day. April 1 is not a public holiday in any country except Cyprus which is a national holiday (though not for April Fools’ Day but instead for a holiday called “Cyprus National Day”), Odessa, Ukraine and the first of April is an official city holiday. The custom of setting aside a day for playing harmless pranks upon one’s neighbour has been relatively common in the world historically.

In Ireland, it was traditional to entrust the victim with an “important letter” to be given to a named person. That person would read the letter, then ask the victim to take it to someone else, and so on. The letter when opened contained the words “send the fool further”

Danes, Finns, Icelanders, Norwegians and Swedes celebrate April Fools’ Day. Most news media outlets will publish exactly one false story on 1 April; for newspapers this will typically be a first-page article but not the top headline.

In Italy, France, Belgium and French-speaking areas of Switzerland and Canada, the 1 April tradition is often known as “April fish”. Possible pranks include attempting to attach a paper fish to the victim’s back without being noticed. This fish feature is prominently present on many late 19th- to early 20th-century French April Fools’ Day postcards. Many newspapers also spread a false story on April Fish Day, and a subtle reference to a fish is sometimes given as a clue to the fact that it is an April Fools’ prank.

Amaretto went the other way on April 1, and instead of pranks they have given us many great eye traits. In April 2013 starting the first, we could get the Autism Awareness eye

and starting April 1 2014 it was the Aviation Appreciation eye. Both of these eyes can be passed on.

Beginning April 1 2015 we got the Flags of the World eye China.
April 1 2016 was Flags of the World eye Morocco, then in April 1 2017 it was flags of the World eye Jordan, 2018 was Indonesia. April 1 2019 it was Colombia, then last but not least in starting April 1 for a month it was Ghana. So many great eye traits and they can all be passed on!

What is the worst and best April Fools Prank you have ever played or had played on you?

My Own Trait

On July 12, 2019, Amaretto held the Amaretto Country Fair; and unveiled the fifth horse in the line of Seven Heavenly Virtues and Seven Deadly Sins Horses. The OOAKS were the stars of the auction. But there was more. Amaretto also offered an opportunity to any breeder present there to bid for “design your custom trait” both for horses, k-9s, and birds. There is where my adventure begins, and I want to share this unique experience with all of you.

My first try was bidding to design a horse coat. Soon the price escalated, and it became a ferocious duel reaching my budget limit. Then it started a magical moment I couldn’t believe. Fellow breeders messaging me and offering their help so I could keep the fight! I’ll never forget any of those dear friends. Still, I lost it, so now my batteries turned to the wing auction. I had to challenge the very same adversary, but now with smaller firepower. So, I became the owner of my future exclusive creator’s designer wing.

Then Ava contacted me to start the creative conception of the wing, and the first surprise, I could choose the eagle wing design, released at the same Country Fair. In other words, it would be the first eagle wing not coming from an OOAK in the horses’ market! Ava intermediated a few interviews between Amamretto’s designers and me till we finally came to an optimal result.

Ava also explained a new horse trait must have a starter coat and a set of starter eyes, and I could pick any I wanted. The second surprise was the Heart Element eye was a starter eye set, so my stud could come with two heat traits!
I received my original horse in a few days, a seven-year-old stud. It was the “All you need is love” wing, and most of you breeders know the rest of my story.

PEACH BUZZ ~ALBINO~

Trendsetting news!! Today’s topic is ALBINOS!!!

Did you know that there are 8 different albinos you can try and get? How can you get them you ask? Its simple just breed siblings together for a chance at dropping an albino. These prized beauties are a coveted lot. Many Amaretto breeders try to get all 8 of them! How many different albinos do you have? In the last update, we were wowed and surprised at the newest albino, the mini albino. Each Albino comes with a special albino eye. The eyes do pass but the albino coat does not. However, if you breed an albino to its sibling you have a slightly elevated chance of dropping another albino! How cool is that? I have heard breeders comment several times at our community meetings asking if we could have a special breeding project with our prized albinos. Our answer is with a grin from the lovely Ava “you never know.” So, get out those sib sets and breed for those albinos…….because you never know!

This is Maggie Mae with the Peach Buzz reporting on the latest trends in Amaretto!
