Category : K9 Information

Happy Thursday!  I wanted to talk to you all today about something very exciting with the Amaretto K-9s, the Blanco and Mutts.  These are super cute surprises you can get from breeding your Amaretto K-9s in specific ways… let me explain.

In order to get a Blanco K-9 you would need to breed the same coat color together.  For example you could breed a Black Great Dane with another Black Great Dane and possibly get a Blanco Great Dane.  It cannot be 2 different coats or breeds it must be the exact same.  The Blanco K-9s have special collars you can only get from a Blanco that do have the ability to pass.

In order to get a Mutt K-9 you would need to breed 2 FULL siblings together.  This means they must have the exact same mother and father.  No other requirements necessary for Mutts other than they must be full siblings, they can be any breed you want!  The Mutts have special eyes you can only get from a Mutt that have the ability to pass.

So if you read this carefully enough you can see that you could actually try for both at the same time!  I personally breed Full siblings that are the same breed and same coat so that I have a double shot at getting a special surprise!

The coats on the Blanco and Mutt do NOT have the ability to pass!

Until next time Happy Breeding!!

Blanco Mutt

Hellloooooo Amaretto! Its a lazy Sunday but boy do I have lots if information to share with you!

Have you heard about the 23rd trait being a horn? Well here is a picture of all 4 horns that were released!! Remember the only way to get this horn is by breeding two Limited Edition – Valentine Treasure horses together! Remember this as well that if the offspring of the Limited Edition – Valentine Treasure horses doesnt show the 23rd trait, it will not pass it on later. Here is a picture of the following horns: Shadow, Bloom, Spirit, and Heart! These horns do have the ability to pass!

23Horn

Now for my K-9 lovers, you guys got some suprises too! 3 new nose colors! Thats right Cherry, Grape, and Coconut!  These new noses colors DO have the ability to pass!

NewNoses2If that wasn’t enough well last month was the last release of Awareness Eyes! Can you believe its been a year already? Well you can check out all 12 awareness eyes on the wiki here:
http://wiki.amarettobreedables.com/index.php?title=Awareness_Eyes

So kicking off our new line of random monthly eyes is the Medical Appreciation Eye! You can get the Medical Appreciation Eye from 3/1 to 3/31 randomly from any breeding as long as your horses are version 4.0

Medical Appreciation

Each month Amaretto will release a new Appreciation eye! I hope you all have a great week starting Monday!

Well this is Ava over and out! Happy breeding everyone!

Feeding K-9s

Amaretto offers two types of food for the K-9s

1. Breedable Kibble & Water- This is the food you must use if you wish to breed your K-9’s.

2, Pet Kibble – you can use this type if you do not want to breed your K-9’s, or if the k-9 is retired. If you decide to breed your k-9 after feeding it Pet Food, it will take 7 days on Breeder Food for the effects of the Pet Food to wear off.

K-9 food

Breedable Food

k9 food3

Pet Food

1. Rez the food/water within your K-9’s set range. (a K-9’s default range is 5 meters)

2. Rez you food out near the home position area, and within the range area you set your K-9’s to.

3. Make sure that the food is set to the same group as your K-9’s..So often the food is in one group and the K-9 in another. The food is set to feed only those in the same group and before you know it you have sick K-9’s.

Food can be set to Group only, Owner only, or all.

1. Owner only: Will only be consumed by the owners K-9’s.

2. Group only: Will only be consumed by K-9’s in the same group as the food/water is set to.

3. All: Any K-9 within range of the food/water will be able to consume it.

Amaretto Ranch Breedables suggests that you have only 8 K-9’s to one breedable food and chew toy.

How much does a K-9 eat?

Here is a little chart you can remember as to how many breedable foods you can go through with x amount of K-9s

1 K-9 ~ 1 food/4 weeks

2 K-9s ~ 1 food/2 weeks

4 K-9s ~ 1 food/7 days

7 K-9s ~ 1 food/4 days

8 K-9s ~ 2 food/7 days

14 K-9s ~ 1 food/2 days

28 K-9s ~ 1 food/day

56 K-9s ~ 2 food/day

84 K-9s ~ 3 food/day

112 K-9s ~ 4 food/day

My K-9 is not eating!

If you see your K-9 is at say 10% hunger/thirst, it’s time to swing into action! First thing is to double check all the things mentioned above. If all of that looks correct, try picking your K-9 up into inventory and then rezzing it out again. Sometimes that’s all it takes. However sometimes your K-9 is not eating because there is no food available or within range. Be sure to double check that you have food out and it’s within range of your K-9s.

My K-9 is sick!

Your K-9 can and will eat itself out of sickness. It will take 3 days for your K-9 to do this

Happy Friday Everyone! Hope everyone is having a good breeding day !

Today I wanted to touch on the Forever Foal and the Perpetual Puppy. If you have an Amaretto Horse or Amaretto K-9 that is special and you want to keep it forever without feeding it then this is what you will need.

Forever Foal
The Forever Foal makes the Retired horse so that It will not have to eat food any more . You can keep it forever without buying food ! Everything else on the horse will work normally just will not need food. The Forever Foal only works on retired horses 120 days old that is retired.
The text on a forever foal will say pet instead of retired.
The Forever Foal can be found in any Amaretto Store.

Perpetual Puppy
The Perpetual Puppy makes a Spayed/Neutered K-9 no longer eats food it works just like the forever foal.
The Perpetual Puppy has to be over 126 days old female or male. Text will also say Pet instead of Spayed/Neutered

Happy Friday Everyone! Hope you all have had a good breeding week!
Today I would like to tell you about the new Nulls that came out with the 2013 Halloween Limited Editions and Special Edition!

A Null trait is an “invisible trait” or a placeholder. These placeholders were implemented as a way to allow the breeder to have a maximum traited breedable, but still look the way they want it to look.

The following Nulls were reveled in the offspring of the Halloween Limited Edition Horses:

Leg Null – Holds the place of socks and hoofs
Wing Null – Holds the place of WIngs
Ear Size Null – Holds the place of Lanky or Scanty
Ear Style Null- Holds the place of Droop, Half Droop Left, and Half Droop Right
Racing null – Holds the place of racing Stamina
Racing null – Holds the place of racing Speed

Amaretto has added null traits to the K-9 ‘s, these also came from the Halloween Special Edition K-9s.
These nulls are:

Ear Size Null – Holds the place of Small or Large Ears
Size Null – Holds the place of Runt or Pick
Nose Null – Holds the place of Black Spotted Nose, Pale Nose, Liver Spotted Nose, and Liver Nose
Tail Null – Holds the place of Long or Short tail
Polish Null – Holds the place of Paw Polish
Radiance Null – Holds the place of High or Low Radiance
Sheen Null – Holds the place of High or Low Sheen
Tint Null – Holds the place of Periwinkle, Lilac, Mint, Rose, Sunset, and Sunrise
So keep your eye out for all of these nulls showing up around the grid!
Remember the null traits are just like any other traits and pass the same way.

Happy Breeding!

Let’s Keep Those Pups Happy!

Did you know that you can raise your K9’s happiness and have fun at the same time? That’s right; while a K-9 is attached to the K9 HUD they receive a boost in Happiness! Today I am going to cover the K9 HUD for you and teach you how to use it. To get a HUD is just a few short button clicks away. To get a HUD simply click your K9 and from the menu select HELP, then you click the HUD button and a K9 HUD will be sent directly to your Objects folder in your inventory.

K9_HUD_Labeled1

The buttons on the K9 HUD are as follows:
•    Connect – This button lets you chose what K-9 you want to interact with
•    Disconnect – This button disconnects the current K-9 from the HUD
•    Follow – the K-9 will follow your avatar
•    Come – The K-9 will walk to your avatar and then sit near you
•    Stay – This will cause the K-9 to sit and stay in its current location
•    Get Ball – This button will send a ball to your objects folder for use with the Fetch button
•    Fetch – This button needs to be activated before you can throw the ball and have your K-9 go get it for you.

The K9 HUD also displays very useful information such as:
•    Which K-9 is connected to the HUD
•    Which feature of the HUD is currently in use, Fetch, Come, Stay, and Follow.

It is very easy to use the K-9 HUD. All you need to do is follow the instructions below:
•    Wear the HUD – It will attach to your screen in the upper left corner
•    Touch the K-9 you want to interact with and chose HUD from the Blue Menu
•    Touch the Connect button on the HUD – It will confirm in local which K-9 is connected to the HUD
•    Now you can choose to have your K-9 do one of the activities listed on the HUD; Come, Stay, Follow.

Now it is time to have some fun with you K9. Let go over how to play fetch with them using the K9 HUD:
•    Click the Get Ball button – This will send a ball to your objects
•    Wear the Ball – it will attach to your hand
•    Click Ball to set range for the distance at which the ball will be thrown. You can chose from 20, 40, 60, or 100 meters.
•    Click the Fetch button on your HUD
•    You will see the mouse look button at the bottom of your screen click that to go into mouse look
•    Aim where you want to throw the ball and left click your mouse to throw the ball
•    Your K-9 will run and retrieve the ball and bring it back to you as you will see it back in your hand and you can throw it again and again while your K-9 retrieves it for you.

Now once you are done interacting with your K-9 via the HUD or you want to play with a different K-9 click the Disconnect button. This will disconnect your K-9 from the HUD and reset Home position where the K-9 is located at the time it disconnects. One thing I want to stress is that when you are done using the HUD with your K9; remember to move your K-9 back within range of its kibble and water and be sure to reset its home position.

You see, it is as easy as that to have fun and keep your K9 happy! So get those K9 HUDs on and plays with your puppies!

Until next time…. Happy breeding and playing with your K9! Ohhh, and be sure to keep yours eyes and ears open for some exciting news coming soon! *wink wink*

Hello everyone! I know there is lots of buzz going around about the twist and the new Halloween Editions. I did want to clear up the rumor that is going around. The Ivory Dun, Ebony Dun, and Mystique Rainbow Quartz are included in the twist!

I want to take a moment to talk about something that is very near and dear to my heart. The Amaretto wiki is a wealth of information that is free for everyone to use. I spend a lot of time and hard work keeping it updated for everyone. It has been brought to my attention that more than one person has been taking photos off the wiki and making signs and selling them in world.

There is a terms of use for the wiki:
http://wiki.amarettobreedables.com/index.php?title=Amaretto_Breedables_Horse_Manual:Privacy_policy

This states:

PHOTOS, CHAT, BLOGS, FORUMS AND OTHER CONTENT
35) All information, including, but not limited to data, text, software, music, sound, graphics, messages, video, tags, or other materials (“Content”), uploaded to the site, are the sole responsibility of the person from whom such Content originated.
36) Amaretto Breedable’s is a service provider and will respond to DMCA and other legal notifications accordingly.
I know some of you guys have used the photos to advertise your horses which we don’t mind. There is however a problem with someone taking our photos off the wiki and selling them in secondlife for profit. I would ask you as a community not to support these people.

I am very sad even writing about this, however felt it needed to be addressed. It is not right for someone to take the work of others and sell it for a profit which makes me not only angry but sad.

Well don’t forget to go out and pick up all those awesome Halloween Edition animals with surprises! I can’t wait to see some photos of them in the pic of the week contest remember I choose the winner on Wednesday!
Until next time this is Ava over and out! Happy Breeding Everyone!

Well Happy Friday Everyone! Hope you are enjoying your breedables!
Today I would like to talk a little about Amaretto Breedables and Second Life.
Let’s start with the rollbacks Second Life is doing every Tuesday an whenever they decide to, and some of the problems it is causing for your Amaretto Breedables.

Let’s start with Mother had Second Bundle. If this happens to you all you need to do is leave the bundle under the mother until you have copied the UUID of the mother because we will need this to send you the correct bundle, if you have 2 bundles under the mother one will be a viable bundle an the 2nd one will be a non-viable bundle. You can delete the Mother had second bundle if only you got a good one no need to file a ticket.
But! If you only got the Mother had 2nd bundle you will need to file a ticket with the mother’s information so we can get the bundle to you as soon as possible. You can also click on the mother and see what the last bundle this mother had. Click on breeding then click on last bundle. Please don’t try to birth this bundle as it is a non-viable bundle.

Well since that covers Mother had 2nd bundle let’s move on and talk about the duplicated horses or duplicated bundles. All you have to do is file a ticket on this and check your ticket for a respond and what CSR to send your horses to.

Well I would also like to mention missing horse! When you file a ticket for a missing horse please be sure to include the UUID or the name of the horse! When you have all this the CSR will get your horse back to you as quickly as possible! Make a quick notecard with all your horses’ names and UUID’s on it that way you have it just in case you need it, it does come in handy!
Well I think I covered about what can happen with your breedables when Second Life decides to do the no-no on us!
So until next Friday Have a Great Day and Happy Breeding!!
