Today I would like to talk about the Amaretto K-9s. We have some new and exciting things coming this year for our K-9s. Yes Yes I know I tell you new things are coming but I will not tell you what….That is how we work at Amaretto, we like surprises!

We have many different K-9s from coats to collars to eyes and you can make lots of different combinations with them. You can play fetch or just have them chase you around the yard. They are the perfect addition to your breedable family. I would like to say that most people that have not tried the K-9s really do not know what they are missing. The wolves are a favorite of many people as well as are the Enchanted. I challenge you all to just give it a try go out and get even just one K-9 and see how much fun they can really be!

Amaretto Horses started out in Sept of 2010 less then a year later the Amaretto K-9s were released and now coming soon we have the Amaretto Barnyard Birds. One question I have heard some ask is “are they going to stop updating the horses” Answer to that is a simple No. All of our creations here at Amaretto are done out of Love and we want our community to enjoy the items that we create.

So in closing of my connection for the day I would like to say if you have any suggestions on things you the community would like to see in our products feel free to file a support ticket and put the subject line as Attention Richie, I would love to hear your suggestions or even comments about your experience with the CSR team.

Until Next Week Happy Breeding 🙂

Did you know that in 2011 Relay For Life raised over 370,000 USD in their “Seasons of Hope” campaign across the entire Second Life grid? The Amaretto Breedables Community contributed over 75,000 USD. You guys are truly amazing! I know this year we will surpass that no problem!

This years campaign theme is “Time for a Cure”. As you know Amaretto is deeply involved in doing fundraising for various charities. RFL is near and dear to Amaretto Ranch Breedables.

Amaretto has placed donation kiosks at ALL our store locations for people to donate.

You can also donate through the Amaretto Ranch Breedables Team here:

http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLFY12SL?team_id=1119656&pg=team&fr_id=42558

We have created a group as well that is by invite only (IM any CSR for a group invite) ~Amaretto Relay for Life~ This group is a silent group and is ONLY for things related to RFL. So no posting of your horses/K9s, breedable questions and so on. Its only for RFL related things.

“Time for Cure” kicks off tomorrow at 10am SLT. Location to be announced and you can listen in live at www.t1radio.com – Please stay tuned for location details.

I’m sure without a doubt that once again our community will come together for such a worthy cause.

Hints to reduce lag on your sim !

Sim lag can cause the breedables to duplicate, not rez, birthing issues and bundles to malfunction.

Here is some tips on what you can do to reduce some lag

Turn particles off

Watch for items that cause collision

Remove unnecessary huds, (easy tools, game huds, excite)

Remove heavy scripted items (clothing, hair, shoes)

Turn particles off

If you have alot of breedables on your sim, you can turn your animations and sound off on them

Reducing your sim lag will help make your breeding experience happier and easier.

Tonight I am going to take a few moments to talk to you about staying connected with Amaretto. There are many ways to stay up to date with news, announcements, and update information. Below you’ll find a list of ways to keep up to date….

  • The best and easiest way is to join an official Amaretto group.
  • ~Amaretto Ranch~ Breedables
  • Amaretto Ranch Multi Language Group
  • You can join the ~Amaretto Ranch~ Breedables and Amaretto Ranch Multi Language Group by touching any of the group joiner boards at any Amaretto Store location.
  • ~Amaretto Market Owners Coalition~
  • ~Ava’s Amaretto Answers Group~
  • You can join ~Amaretto Market Owners Coalition~ and ~Ava’s Amaretto Answers Group~ by sending a message to one of the owners or managers in the groups.
  • Once you are a member of the group, go to group info and make sure the box is checked to allow you to receive Group Notices.  If you get capped on notices a lot you can always go to the notices tab at the top of the info box and look at past notices. As this group has grown larger and larger it can often times be very difficult to keep up with the chat in the chat tab, and asking questions can be hindered by chat lag, so when in doubt be sure to check those past notices.  **Remember** This group is for general this group is for info about the horses & K-9′s NO ADVERTISING OF ANY KIND (including freebies or giveaways)  and CONSTANT ARGUING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, that is not what this group is for.
  • Also located at all the Amaretto Store locations is a Hippo Group Joiner.  You can join the Hippo group and be informed of all major announcements without taking up a group slot.
  • The Social Connection which is located at http://amarettobreedables.com/ This where we put all the big announcements (which are also sent out in notices).

I hope this helps you all. You want to make sure you stay connected with Amaretto to stay up to date and receive Amaretto information and news. Thank you to each and every one of you for being a wonderful part of the Amaretto community!!  Take care and tata for now 😛

The Importance of being in the Market

The Importance of being in the Market.

Lately there has been lots of chat in the groups about markets and so today we are going to spend a bit of time talking about them.

One of the greatest pleasures of the breedable sector is wandering around the markets looking for our next greatest find for our horse herds and now K9 packs. They come in all shapes and sizes, from the small 4096sqm to 2, 3 and 4 sims large. If you click on search right now and type in “Amaretto” in the find field you will quickly discover there are lots to visit. The various markets all offer some kind of feature that will appeal to nearly every method of buying/selling our breedables: Auctions, Bid/Offer Boards, Showcase/Spotlight stands, Raffles, Stores, Pens and more! There is something out there for everyone!

Its worth a moment to recognize the amount of time, money and effort that goes into owning a market. For example the start up of a full sim market (if bought direct from linden labs) can easily run a startup bill of over 385,000 L (1500.00USD – SIM+Rental Systems+Bid Boards+ Raffle Systems+Other start up costs). This can also easily cost the owner roughly 125,000L (500USD – Tier+Staff+Other Montly Costs) monthly. Now these are just roughly the costs associated with a 1 sim market. Let us not forget the amount of time the owners/staff have to put in trying to be the best market and to keep it that way. So you can now see that its not so much to do with making millions but rather a love of running a breedable market for people like you and me to sell our breedables.

“Markets are what you make them!”

Sure we all want the markets we visit to have friendly, knowledgable and helpful owners/staff. But lets be honest … that only helps us so much! Let me explain… You show up at “Un-named Market”, you’re armed with some of your awesome breedables that you’ve worked so hard on, you rent a store, you rezz your breedables/food and you walk away expecting they are going to sell… 5 days later your awesome breedables are still sitting there and now your considering to reduce the price in efforts to try and push them. However you notice 5 doors over the person there has taken the time to really make their store “POP” and there are people there looking around and perhaps buying.. The key here is that when you rent your space in a market – This is your store front! Come up with creative ways to make your space “POP”. Its a like an awesome photo… ….Its not always so much about the subject as whats happening in the background to make the subject stand out. In this case the subject is your breedable and the background is what will make them stand out from the rest. GET CREATIVE! Afterall this is why Philip Linden (founder of Linden Labs) created Second Life. So that we could create to no end.

If you asked the owners of markets and top breeders “What makes you successful?” I can assure you they will all say something along the lines of “Word of Mouth”. There is LOADS to be said for passing information along. You are now armed with a store that really “POPS” at “Un-named Market”. The friendly owners/staff are doing their bit to push the market and bring in traffic. BUT… ….Every single market that you can find in search is reliant on “word of mouth”. I promise you that every successful seller is looking for any way they can to bring in their own traffic to their stores. They are telling their friends, passing out landmarks, they have their store easy to find in profile picks and advertising in the groups. Look at this formula …

Owner/Staff boosting the market + renters boosting their stores = Increased traffic
Increased traffic + Your eye “Popping” store + Your awesome breedables = increased sales

So you see… Markets are amazing places to sell your breedables but its equally important that you really be just as active as the owners/staff that run them…

I’m left thinking of the old saying

“Don’t wait for your ship to come in; swim out to it.” — Unknown

and

“Markets are like department stores… Each vendor in a department store spends millions and countless hours to sell you their product” — Ford Carver

Watch next week and I’ll share more stories of my experiences as a breeder.

Ch-Ch-Changes! There are always many things happening at the Amaretto workshop, and today we would like to announce a big change at the workshop. We hope the entire community will join us in welcoming Ford Carver to the Amaretto Family as the newest CSR!  Many of you know Ford from the months he spent as a moderator of the Amaretto Ranch Breedables chat group, some of you know him as a valued member of the Amaretto Community.  You will still see Ford in the group but he will also be handling support tickets (so go easy on him at first). Ford brings with him to the Amaretto Team years of real world Customer Service experience and a breeders knowledge of Amaretto products from his time spent as a part of the breedable community in Second Life.  Please take the time to make Ford feel welcome as the newest member of the Amaretto Team!

Jaymee 🙂

More Horse Jokes

How many horses does it take to change a light bulb?…

Any foal: The sun is shining, the day is young, we’ve got our whole lives ahead of us and you’re inside worrying about a stupid burned-out light bulb?

Shetland pony: I can’t reach the stupid lamp.

Appaloosa: No, don’t change it. If it’s dark, maybe no one will see me raiding the feed room.

Andalusian: Let the maid do it. I need to go roll in the mud.

Clydesdale: Och, and ye’ll just be usin’ up the ‘lectricity, ye’ will, better tae use a wee bit of candle…better yet tae not waste either and just gae tae sleep when the sun gaes doon. Electiricity is verra dear.

Tennessee Walker: (Hiccup) You’re doing it all wrong (hiccup)! You have to use all four feet!

Mustang: Lightbulb? Let’s go on a trail ride, instead. And camp. Out in the open like REAL horses.

Cleveland Bay: I’m busy. Make the whipper-in and the hounds do it.

Paint: Put all the lightbulbs in a pen, tell me which one you want, and my owner will bet you twenty bucks I can get it before the quarter horse.

The world’s most incredibly lazy man found a magic lamp.
He rubbed it and a genie appeared and granted him three wishes.
He wished for a horse, a sumo wrestler and a squirrel.
“They’re yours, but what are they for?” the genie asked.
“I’m tired of walking everywhere — I want to just ride the horse. The sumo wrestler is so that I won’t have to work to get on the horse.”
“But the squirrel?” asked the genie.
“I need something to go ‘click-click’ to start the horse!!!”

Subject: ATTN: New Virus!!!!
This is a warning!

Please be aware that there is a new version of an old virus circulating called “Horse_Crazy_11.” Upon receiving this virus your computer will automatically create new system files that will detect when you are online and download pictures of horses to your hard drive. It will replace your current wallpaper with horse pictures, fill up your online bookmarks/favorites menu with Horsemall links and change your sound scheme to “barn noises.” It will automatically create a biological agent and place it in your barn…Requiring you to constently check for new bundles.

There is no proven time table for this virus. Symptoms could appear at any time upon its reception. Once it has installed the biological agent in your barn – it cannot be removed. REPEAT… THIS VIRUS CANNOT BE REMOVED!!

It is insidious and clever – it will work its way into your sentiments and you will never be able to get rid of it…

Our Owners/Creators, Josaphine & Jaysin Cooperstone

Josie & Jaysin are a real life couple! They are engaged to be married and share a home in California with Josie’s kids, 3 spoiled rotten dogs and 2 snobby cats.  Before Second Life Josie was a nurse in RL and Jaysin worked in Heating & Air Conditioning.

The CSR’s,  Jaymee – Maleficent – Tmzasz – Karrie – Richie – Avalon – Dakota

Jaymee Caproni is Josaphine’s RL sister!  Not only are they sisters in real life, but I can say from countless hours spent with these two ladies they are indeed best friends.  Jaymee lives a few houses down from Josie and Jaysin with 4 of THE most entertaining children I have ever met. Jaymee was also a nurse in RL before SL.

Now the mother’s in the family.  I would like to say that these two women keep the rest of us in line, but I refuse to lie. LOL We have to keep our eye on these two at all times!

Maleficent Farshore lives in Virginia with her RL son Tmzasz Luminos.  She enjoys long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners ….oh wait that was suppose to go in her personal ad.  She is an office manager during the day and CSR extraordinaire by night! Tm as many of you know is the Webmaster for Amaretto, as well as a CSR.  Prior to SL he worked as an electrician before leaving that to pursue being a full time computer geek!

Karrie Woyseck just happens to be MY real life mom!  She lives in South Carolina with my dad where I grew up. Besides me, her favorite and only daughter, she has 2 other headaches, I mean I have 2 brothers.  Before SL Karrie worked in retail.

Richie Carami our big city country boy! Richie moved to New York from Kentucky and New York hasn’t sounded the same since! Before SL Richie was a Stage Hand setting up for many of the top acts in the entertainment industry.

Our little Ava. Avalon Crystal might technically be Richie and Jaymee’s daughter in Second Life but she’s been adopted by everyone on the Team. Ava lives in Georgia and before SL was a Customer Service Manager ….hey I bet that’s why she’s everyone’s favorite CSR!

Then there’s me, Dakota.  I live in Indiana with my husband and kids. Before SL I was an office worker, working as a Secretary and in Accounting.

Marketing, Tasia Tonic

Tasia has been active in Second Life since 2005 and is the owner/creator of The Tastery.  If you have been married in Second Life or even been to a wedding in here you have probably seen one of her amazing wedding cakes.  Tasia in Real Life has been involved with Internet Marketing for the past 15 years. During her years as a senior Business Development Consultant, her team was awarded a Mercury 100 title as “the fastest growing technology firm in northern Colorado”.  She enjoys seeking out new marketing avenues and has many new ideas that will be quite exciting for Amaretto. For the rest of us this means a continued growth for Amaretto Breedables as she brings her real life experience into Second Life and pursues exciting new avenues to keep Amaretto Breedables fresh and exciting.

So there you have it, a little real life information about each of us.  I hope that makes it easier to remember your Amaretto Family are humans, and we are trying our best to make this wonderful world of Amaretto Breedables an enjoyable experience for you all.
